Lawyer Peter Obiri-Yeboah has urged youth associations in the Ahafo Region to collaborate with other stakeholders to promote development in the area.

He made the call at Gyedu during the 25th anniversary celebration of the Gyedu Youth Association, stressing that the numerous youth groups in the region must place development at the centre of their activities to improve the living conditions of residents, particularly the youth.

According to him, the Ahafo Region continues to face significant development challenges, and greater impact can be achieved if youth associations work closely with traditional authorities, local government officials, and other stakeholders to share ideas and drive development initiatives.

He also cautioned youth leaders against using such associations for personal or selfish interests, urging them instead to focus on collective progress.

Meanwhile, the Principal of the Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Berekum, Monica Nkrumah, encouraged young people to consider apprenticeships and skills training as practical solutions to the rising unemployment in the region.

She further appealed to individuals and corporate organisations to support vocational and technical institutions in Ahafo, enabling them to provide comprehensive training that equips the youth for a brighter and more sustainable future.
