Asante Kotoko Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito has urged his players to live up to their status as defending FA Cup champions ahead of their Round of 16 clash against Aduana FC.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Aduana at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, coming off a 3-1 defeat to Heart of Lions in the Premier League at Kpando Sports Stadium over the weekend.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the match, Zito stressed that his team has no excuses and must secure a win.
“I told them we don’t have any excuse against Aduana. We should amend and improve on the match we played against Heart of Lions,” Zito said.
“We have to change the mindset, put it behind us, and then come out and fight to prove that we are really the defending champions,” he added.
After the FA Cup encounter, Asante Kotoko will host arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 22 fixture next weekend.
