Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito says the team has turned its full focus to the Ghana Premier League following their elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors were knocked out after a 6–1 aggregate defeat to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club.
Kotoko suffered a narrow 1–0 loss at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg before enduring a heavy 5–1 defeat in the return fixture in Casablanca.
Speaking ahead of their Matchday 8 clash against Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend, Zito admitted the setback was disappointing but emphasised the importance of refocusing on the domestic front.
“It wasn’t easy, but we had to recover, so we are out of it, and now we are preparing for the league,” Zito told the club’s media.
“We can’t keep crying over what happened. So far, so good, we are working towards the league,” he added.
Kick-off for Sunday’s fixture is scheduled for 15:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium.
