Residents of the Ataso community in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region are facing significant challenges due to poor mobile network coverage, which is severely impacting their daily lives and economic activities.
Residents are forced to trek to nearby farms or climb trees and buildings to get a signal, making communication a substantial challenge.
Residents are urging telecommunication companies to expand their network coverage to the area.

They are also appealing to the government, specifically the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, to come to their aid and help improve the mobile network infrastructure.
“The network is our major problem and is affecting us a lot,” lamented one of the residents in an interview with Adom News. “It’s difficult transacting business in this village, we’re pleading with the government to come to our aid.”
Another resident added that “we climb trees before we’re able to make phone calls, or we climb an uncompleted storey building”.
