Vice President in US for Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue

Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is currently in the United States to participate in the 2025 Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, an annual global forum organized by the World Food Prize Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa.

The event, which brings together policymakers, researchers, and international development partners, focuses on advancing sustainable agriculture and strengthening global food systems.

As part of her engagement, the Vice President is expected to deliver a keynote address highlighting Ghana’s ongoing efforts in ensuring food security, promoting sustainable farming practices, and expanding opportunities for women and youth in agribusiness.

A statement from the Office of the Vice President noted that she will also hold bilateral meetings with key development partners and participate in a high-level roundtable discussion on innovation and agricultural transformation.

Her participation, the statement noted, underscores Ghana’s strong commitment to building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems that contribute to global food security and economic growth.

The statement emphasized Ghana’s readiness to collaborate with international stakeholders to tackle emerging challenges in agriculture and food sustainability.
