Two people have lost their lives, while another is receiving medical treatment following a motorcycle accident at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 7, 2026, near Finest Pub along the Cape Coast–Kumasi highway, after two motorcycles reportedly collided.

Preliminary police reports indicate that a 25-year-old rider, Solomon Nyame, was riding an unregistered Royal motorbike with a 23-year-old passenger, Patience Pamful.

The pair were travelling from Assin Juaso towards Assin Fosu at high speed when the crash occurred. Investigators say the rider reportedly spotted another motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction while attempting to turn towards a junction leading to the pub.

In an attempt to manoeuvre, he allegedly moved into the oncoming lane, colliding with another unregistered Royal motorbike being ridden by 19-year-old Daniel Agyeko.

The force of the crash threw all riders and the pillion passenger onto the roadside pavement, causing serious injuries. They were rushed to St. Francis Xavier Hospital for treatment.

According to the Central North Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, Daniel Agyeko and Patience Pamful were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, while Solomon Nyame was admitted and is currently responding to treatment.

The Central North Regional MTTD Commander, ASP Wonder Lumor, confirmed the details of the crash and stated that the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue pending preservation and autopsy.
