The Ghana Meteorological Agency has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall in parts of Accra, the Ashanti Region, and several coastal and middle belt areas later today.

According to the agency, early morning conditions will be mostly cloudy in inland areas, with mist likely over coastal, forested, and mountainous regions.

As the day progresses, sunny spells are expected across much of the country, giving way to localized thunderstorms or rain from late afternoon into the evening.

Areas likely to be affected include Aflao, Accra, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, Ho, Koforidua, and Akim Oda. In the middle and transition zones, Goaso, Sunyani, and Techiman are also expected to experience similar conditions.

In the Ashanti Region, Kumasi and Obuasi are projected to record thunderstorms later in the afternoon. The agency further indicated that slightly hazy conditions will persist over the extreme northern parts of the country throughout the forecast period.

Meanwhile, the state of the sea has been described as rough, prompting coastal residents, especially fishermen and other marine operators, to exercise caution.

Residents in affected areas are urged to take necessary precautions, particularly during stormy periods, to ensure their safety.
