Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu has reassured Ghanaians that the Attorney-General’s Office is conducting all ongoing prosecutions in strict accordance with due process, emphasizing that the rights of the accused are fully protected.
Speaking on Accra-based Metro TV, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said the government remains committed to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the constitutional rights of every citizen, irrespective of political affiliation or social status.
“The Attorney-General’s Office is operating entirely within the framework of the law,” he stated. “Every case before the courts is based on credible evidence and proper legal procedure. There is no intention to pursue anyone for political reasons.”
He further highlighted the importance of fairness and transparency in Ghana’s justice system, noting ongoing efforts to strengthen the independence of state institutions.
“Our democracy is built on justice and accountability. This means ensuring that those who must answer to the law do so, while protecting the rights of all involved,” Mr. Kwakye Ofosu added.
The minister called on the public to maintain confidence in the judicial process and avoid politicizing ongoing legal matters. “We should all have faith in our justice system to deliver impartial and fair outcomes,” he said. “The government’s only goal is to let the law take its natural course, transparently and without bias.”
