Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has declared that “the time to lead the NPP is now,” explaining the reasons behind his decision to contest for the party’s presidential nomination.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Acheampong said he launched his campaign six months ago, in June, to gauge the opinions of Ghanaians.
“We set up an exploratory committee to listen to what Ghanaians and party members were saying. We realized that the party was fatigued with the current options, and what was being presented as alternatives came with a lot of conflicts” he revealed.
He added, “This became a serious concern for the party, and it was one of the main reasons I decided to step in.”
Dr. Acheampong disclosed his qualifications and experience as key strengths that make him a suitable candidate.
“Like the other candidates, I am educated and have experience in both government and business. I have a good character, a calm temperament, and I believe I can marshal the resources needed to run a strong campaign.”
He continued, “With my experience in business and politics, I am confident I can help transform this nation and guide it to the next phase of development.”
The NPP presidential primary is scheduled for January 31, 2026, and will determine the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.
