The Tano North Municipal Assembly in the Ahafo Region has launched a road improvement initiative to address the poor conditions affecting residents across the municipality.
In Duayaw Nkwanta, the assembly has begun constructing and reshaping roads using machines from the District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP).
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Pius Opoku, told Adom News that many roads in the municipality are in disrepair, creating significant challenges for residents and making urgent action necessary.

He added that during his tenure, all bad roads within Tano North will be improved to enhance transportation for residents and beautify the municipality.

Meanwhile, the Akoanahene of Duayaw Nkwanta, Nana Nsowadea Kokroko, along with the DRIP Coordinator for the Ahafo Region, Sheikh Ibn Chambas, commended the municipal assembly and encouraged residents to support the initiative to rehabilitate poor roads and ease their difficulties.
They also urged property owners with kiosks, washrooms, or buildings improperly situated on roads to take appropriate action, warning that DRIP machine operators have been directed by the chiefs and assembly officials to dismantle such structures.
