Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, has officially dispatched the first batch of Ghanaian youth selected under the Work Abroad Programme to South Korea.

The initiative, originally arranged prior to Dr. Pelpuo assuming office, aims to provide valuable employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth in the international shipping industry.

As Minister, Dr. Pelpuo managed the final stages of the deployment process, overseeing the issuance of necessary licenses and authorizations to ensure the successful travel and employment of the beneficiaries.

In his address to the departing recruits, Dr. Pelpuo reassured them of the Government of Ghana’s ongoing support throughout their employment journey in South Korea.

He encouraged the youth to make the most of this opportunity, not only to advance their careers and earn competitive salaries but also to plan for future investments in Ghana, including housing and small businesses.

The departing recruits expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Pelpuo and the government for turning their dreams into reality.

There was an atmosphere of excitement and optimism as they prepared to embark on a new chapter of growth and opportunity.

This initiative aligns with the broader vision of President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, which continues to prioritize youth empowerment, job creation, and international labour partnerships.
