The donation includes Autoclave machines to fight bacteria, viruses and fungi at the hospital.

The donation is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Tafo Hospital to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the community.

Hospital manager, Odette Anaba highlighted the challenges the hospital is currently facing with its autoclave machines.

She noted there is only one machine available for the entire facility, but there is a significant need for additional units to adequately meet the hospital’s demands.

“The machines donated will effectively reduce the workload in the theatre and wards, ensuring smooth operations and better care,” she said.

Founder and leader of the Fountain of Grace Foundation, Peter Okyere Kontor, emphasizes the donation reflects the NGO’s commitment to supporting the community during challenging times.

Hundreds witness first ever boxing bout at Tafo http://34.58.148.58/hundreds-witness-first-ever-boxing-bout-at-tafo/ Wed, 23 Feb 2022 14:17:52 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2083480 Hundreds of people spent sleepless nights to witness the first-ever boxing competition organised at Tafo in the Ashanti Region.

The maiden occasion was electrified with varied activities including singing, dancing among others to stimulate the desperate audience.

Interestingly, the pace of the event was increased when some young boxers suddenly displayed incredible outbursts.

Boys, who are determined to tirelessly continue boxing to carve their names into the ranks of the world’s boxing industry, want the government to include boxing in after-school education.

They are sure such a move will help to produce many brilliant boxers to represent the nation in the global space as done in football.

The young boxers are not perturbed by the low interest in the game, especially in the Ashanti Region.

Before the main battle, a group of middle-aged men also took turns and threw their blows in haste.

At this point, the atmosphere was engulfed with great excitement as Atubiga whose name became a song struggled fiercely and brought down his competitor in a spectacular clash.

At exactly 1:30 am when the weather eventually became cold and conducive for boxing, the two giants of Tafo boxing appeared in the ring well prepared to upset one another.

The contest lasted nearly 30 minutes before 21-year-old Abdul Ganiu Salaam alias Boyka knocked down 26-year-old Abdul Fatawu Umar alias Iron Man to emerge the winner of the competition.

His victory fuelled a spontaneous celebration among many fans and lasted nearly 20 minutes amidst singing and dancing.

Boyka could not hold back his joy, as he appealed for support to continue his career.

Sponsors of the event were marveled at the performance and eagerly await financial support in the coming years.

Paul Atta Onyinah, 49, and Richard Yaw Brefo, 51, were picked up at Tafo Pankrono in the Ashanti Region and charged with conspiracy to commit crime and rioting.

The two in the company of others were accused of disrupting a meeting convened by the Minister of Monitoring and Evaluation Dr Anthony Akoto Osei with some constituency executives.

The suspects are believed to be members of the vigilante group, Delta Force which is affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party.

They say the MP had reneged on the promises he made to them during the campaign.

According to the leader of the group, they were promised jobs and an opportunity to live comfortable lives.

On hearing the Minister was in town to meet the constituency executives, the group decided to take their pound of flesh.

They besieged the venue of the meeting and allegedly destroyed some chairs with a lot of the constituency executives running for their dear lives.

The Minister was whisked away before the group will cause any further damage. A video of the attack has since gone viral not only on traditional media but on social media too.

Two days after the incident two of the suspects involved in the attack have been arrested

Luv FM’s Kwasi Debrah reported the police as saying the suspects will be arraigned before court.

Delta Force members chanting

Members of the Delta Force are not new to violence. Shortly after the NPP won power they attacked the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator whom they accused of not being a party member and did not play any role in bringing the NPP to power.

When their members were arrested by the police, charged and sent to court over the attack on the security coordinator, they mobilized their members, broke into the Circuit court in Kumasi, assaulted the judge and freed their members.

The suspects who escaped from justice voluntarily returned and were prosecuted, found guilty and slapped with fines. However, the Attorney General dropped the charges against the suspects who attacked the court claiming the suspects could not be located.

It remains to be seen what the outcome will be in this new arrest.
