His comments did not sit well with many, who accused him of hypocrisy, given his strong support for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2020 elections.

Critics reminded him that he actively campaigned against Mahama’s return to power and supported the Akufo-Addo-led government, which many now describe as underperforming.

Following the backlash, Prince David Osei attempted to clarify his remarks, claiming they were meant as humor.

In an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Prince David Osei stated that he had received a lot of attacks on social media after his verified X account made disparaging comments about the President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama.

“One thing I know for sure is no man can kill me unless God allows it, but I’ll also defend myself because Ghana belongs to all of us and I’m not afraid of anybody,” he told Andy Dosty.

Prince David Osei’s message highlights the freedom to respect each other’s opinion since everyone is entitled to their rights of association and political affiliation.

“If I support a political ideology and someone stays at home and they feel like it’s right to attack me, I’ll defend myself because they also support a political party,” he said.

He sent this warning message after his backlash over an alleged Twitter post by his cousins and friends, describing the President-Elect John Dramani Mahama as a “drunkard”.

Prince David’s X post that caused the attacks

Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei’s X account made a post (now deleted) that described President-Elect John Dramani Mahama as a “drunkard.”

The post was a reply to an X user who had written an unsavoury comment about the actor.

Prince, who has since the incident apologised to the President-elect, told Andy Dosty in an interview on Hitz FM that he was not the one who posted the insulting comment about the incoming President.

“After the election, we were all pained and sort of depressed because we were surprised at the outcome but all the same I came out to congratulate the NDC and the President-Elect. I even posted him and I said what I had to say elections are over we should all learn to live in peace. Then I started getting a lot of attacks on Twitter,” he said.

He said due to the pain from the disappointment, he did not carry his phones with him.

“So I even left the phone. I wasn’t by my phone. Normally when they start bullying and doing all that stuff I just leave the phones to my cousins or some of my friends,” Prince said on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

He said he was surprised when he woke up to see reports that he had insulted the president.

“I went on my Twitter feed to check where that was coming from. I noticed there was nothing like that but I saw people tagging me in something written by me on my page. Then I said no I didn’t write this. I started asking my cousins and friends then they said oh people were annoying them so they were replying to them. Then I asked if anybody tagged them in any of those tweets, then they said no. But I could see people sharing it on Facebook from Prince David Osei’s Twitter feed.

Because it was coming from my page, I came out to apologise and said I was sorry because people were calling my phone consistently with death threats,” he said.

According to him, his cousins and friends have denied making the comment that described John Mahama as a “drunkard” but he believes they may have made those posts out of provocation from the X users who were attacking him.

“I think when they responded to the person, they deleted it,” he noted.

Prince, however, told Andy Dosty that the only thing he posted was a congratulatory message to the incoming President and that it was not in his nature to insult elderly people.

“I deeply apologize if my words during the campaign offended anyone from the NDC. We were all focused on winning, but now let’s move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana,” he wrote.

The apology comes after intense criticism from NDC supporters, who took offense at remarks the actor made following Mahama’s victory in the 2024 presidential election.

In a now-deleted post meant to congratulate the President-elect, Prince wrote, “Congratulations to the President-elect of the Republic of Ghana. Prince David is notable for sending unwarranted subliminal shots to Mahama due to his affiliation to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the reason his supporters have rallied to end that canker.

His latest verbal attack came shortly after Mahama was officially declared winner of the 2024 presidential election.

In a post initially meant to congratulate Mahama, Prince wrote, “Congratulations to the President-elect of the Republic of Ghana. I will be president one day very soon, so showing honour to whom honour is due. Don’t get it twisted at all, guys. I am different, and there’s nothing to be ashamed of here.”

However, the congratulatory tone took a turn when a netizen reminded him of his critical remarks about Mahama in the past.

The actor responded by labeling the netizen a “fool,” further stating questioning why he cannot aspire to be president if even a “drunkard” has been voted for.

This statement has infuriated many Ghanaians, who view it as a direct insult to the newly elected president.

NDC supporters, in particular, have expressed their anger on social media, calling out the actor for what they see as unprovoked attacks on their leader.

Amid the backlash, Prince David Osei has locked his social media accounts and the said post has since been deleted.

Despite potential endorsements from renowned pastors in the country, the actor believes Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), won’t win the presidency.

Osei’s statement also addressed the “propaganda” and accusations against the ruling NPP, highlighting that illegal mining popularly known as ‘galamsey’, now a significant issue in Ghana , isn’t exclusive to one party.

He explained that individuals from both the NPP and NDC, as well as influential figures, are involved in this illicit activity.

This complex issue has been a longstanding problem in Ghana, with research suggesting that the fight against illegal mining has been unsuccessful due to its inherently political nature.

The involvement of powerful actors, including chiefs, politicians, and business elites, has contributed to the persistence of illegal mining, making it challenging to enforce laws and regulations. He wrote, “Let me share a brief perspective. Even if all the pastors were to pray and anoint Ex-President Mahama, he would not regain the presidency. The ongoing propaganda tactics against the NPP, including accusations of involvement in illegal mining, will not succeed.

“The issue of illegal mining involves individuals from both NDC and NPP, politicians, pastors, and the public. Some of us are not mere observers; our prayers are impactful.”

Illegal mining has taken center stage in Ghana’s upcoming elections, with political parties trading blame. The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) faces criticism for failing to tackle the issue, despite President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vows to address it.

However, David Osei suggests that illegal mining is a complex national problem that transcends party lines, involving various stakeholders across society.

The actor expressed his confidence in the party’s leadership, particularly highlighting the accomplishments of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He said this at the NPP manifesto launch in Takoradi on Sunday.

Mr Osei emphasised that the NPP has the bold solutions needed to project Ghana positively and fully realize it’s potential.

He urged Ghanaians to vote wisely, noting, “A vote for the NPP is a vote for posterity. I understand that times are tough, but it’s a global challenge.”

He warned that choosing any other party could lead Ghana into disaster, asserting that the NPP is the only party capable of taking the country to the next level.

“Vote for progress, vote for Bawumia, vote for Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the next president,” he added.

Reflecting on the benefits provided by the NPP government, Mr Osei reminded Ghanaians of the support they received during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“During the pandemic, we enjoyed free electricity, free water, and financial support for small businesses. This is the kind of leadership we have had, and with Bawumia at the helm, we will continue to see progress. Don’t be misled—there is nothing the alternative can offer.”

Acknowledging the diverse opinions about Ghana’s current state, Osei highlighted the nation’s relative stability compared to many other African countries.

He emphasized that Ghana still holds significant potential for growth and improvement, particularly under Bawumia’s leadership.

The actor argued that, bringing back former President John Mahama would be a step backward and plunge Ghana into an abyss.

In a post on X, he encouraged citizens to think critically about their choices, warning that alternative leadership might exacerbate existing challenges.

He wrote: “I know there are many opinions about the current state of Ghana, and it’s easy to feel disheartened. But let’s take a moment to appreciate that, despite our challenges, Ghana is still in a better position compared to many other African countries. We have the potential for growth and improvement, especially with Dr. Bawumia leading us forward.

“Choosing to bring back a former president would not only be a setback but could potentially lead us down a path of disaster. We need to think critically about our choices and remember that the alternatives may only deepen the challenges we face. Let’s commit to a brighter future for Ghana with leadership that inspires progress. Stay hopeful and keep pushing for a better tomorrow.”

According to him, regardless of COVID-19 challenges, the government has done creditably well.

However, Prince David Osei believes that the Akufo-Addo government has not performed as well when it comes to the creative arts industry.

Speaking on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM, he expressed his longstanding concern regarding the insufficient focus on the creative sector by the government.

“I’ve always been saying that enough attention is not being paid to the creative sector, and the ministers and the deputy ministers and the people who are part of us that we put in place of authority are not doing much,” the actor said.

“I believe the creative arts (industry) should be well-equipped. We should get more of the national cake,” Prince David Osei noted.

He stated that there is a huge misconception that people in the arts do not contribute as much to the country’s development but from the work they do, the creatives also pay their quota to the country.

The actor also highlighted their role in providing entertainment and therapeutic value to the public, emphasizing the importance of respecting and investing in the creative arts.

Prince David Osei added that “until we start respecting the creative arts and paying attention to it, we are not going to be benefiting as much as we are supposed to.

“This is because a lot of people tend to look down on actors, and musicians, but we have the platform and we have the numbers.”

“We can convince the people, persuade the people and cause great change in governance and also get involved in the political discourse,” he said.

The move, he explained is purely on health grounds.

In a interview on Accra FM, Mr. Osei he cannot risk his health by engaging in intimate scenes, such as kissing, with actresses whose health statuses is unknown to him.

“Henceforth, I have stopped kissing in movies. You have no idea where someone is coming from. There are a lot of diseases now and you do not know what people do with their mouths so you cannot just risk your life like that,” he stated.

Prince added that, he has evolved as an actor and is no longer compelled to accept certain roles for industry recognition.

He said while he may have portrayed more daring scenes like going naked in the past due to youthful exuberance, he now prioritises his health and well-being above all else.

In a recent interview on Accra FM, the renowned actor said he has never strayed from his marital vows and remains committed to his wife despite the temptations of fame and celebrity status.

Prince David, known for his roles as a ‘Bad Boy’ in various local and international films, revealed that, he and his wife married as virgins.

He shared that, they dated for four years without having sex highlighting their commitment to preserving their purity.

The actor explained that, his decision to abstain from physical intimacy was driven by his desire to focus on building a successful future without any distractions.

He expressed gratitude for his wife’s understanding and support, describing her as his “strong backbone.”

Despite his on-screen persona as a “bad boy,” Prince David clarified that, his real-life character is vastly different, attributing his discipline and commitment to his upbringing and personal values.

Reflecting on his early relationship with his wife, Prince David recounted how some people questioned his masculinity because of his reluctance to engage in physical intimacy.

They form part of the party’s sub-committee on tourism, arts and culture chaired by the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA), Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Akwasi Agyemang.

Other members are former minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Catherine Abelema Afeku, Dr. Ama Boafo-Arthur, Prof. Issahatu Adam, and the founder of the Glitz Style Awards, Claudia Lumor.

Others are Nana Yaw Manteaw, Yaa Pokua Baiden, Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu (KOKA), and Festus Frimpong Gyebi, Eric Owusu Akreso, Dr. Ackah Kwame Nyameke and Radia Adama Saani.

With higher expectations from stakeholders of the cultural and creative industries, this committee would have to fashion out items that hold greater fortunes the sector.

Already, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has promised to create digital platforms for Ghanaian artists if he becomes President.

He said this during his lecture dubbed ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future’ at the University of Professional Studies in Accra on February 7, 2024. 

“We will introduce other initiatives such as digital and streaming platforms for our artists to make tourism and the creative arts a growth pole in Ghana,” he said.

In the 2020 Manifesto of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the creative industry, the party made a similar promise.

“We will build a digital platform for artists to make their products available to the global market,” the NPP stated.

During his lecture, Dr. Bawumia also promised to build on the Year of Return, Beyond the Return, December in Ghana.

He further touched on alleviating the burden of taxes on the creatives.

“Tax incentives will also be provided for film producers and musicians,” he noted.

Finally, Dr. Bawumia, currently the Vice President of Ghana, said “to boost tourism and job creation, my government will implement an e-visa policy for all international visitors to Ghana to enable visas to be obtained in minutes subject to security and criminal checks.”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has come under serious scrutiny by the creative industry stakeholders for reneging on a number of its promises.

Some of the NPP’s unfulfilled promises are the setting up of the Creative Arts Fund to support artists, and the construction of theatres in Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.

The NPP also promised that “given that our artistes do not have the capital to set up studios, we will, as part of the entrepreneurial hub’s strategy, establish, in partnership with the private sector, large recording studios in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi. Recording artists can rent space to do the recordings in these studios.” That promise has also not been fulfilled.

Finally, the construction of a convention and exhibition centre at the Ghana Trade Fair Company site, La has not been completed.

The actor had shared a ews post which suggested that Patrice Lumumba, one of the speakers who was billed to speak at the “Igniting the voices of Africa” scheduled to be held at the Black Stars Square in Accra had expressed his disappointment at the new force group, saying that if he knew the real intention of the movement, he would not have come.

“If I knew the real intention of the convention, I wouldn’t have come. I was misled by the New Africa Foundation,” Mr Lumumba was quoted to have said.

Sharing the quote on his Twitter page, Prince David made a mockery of the situation, while insinuating that organizers had scammed the speakers.

“Boys are bad, programming and packaging only, Ghana stay by plan,” he wrote in a mixture of English and the Twi language followed by plenty laughing emojis.

However, soon after his post was made, Ghanaian journalist, Olele Salvador, who was present at the press conference held following the cancellation of the convention, shared video evidence from Mr Lumumba’s speech, and in the speech, there was no mention of him feeling scammed by the group.

Knowing that he had been caught in a pickle, Prince David quickly deleted his post, to which Olele responded advising him to desist from spreading false news, especially in an election year when tempers are high.

“.@PrinceDavidOsei you’ve deleted your post; don’t do that again. By all means have your bias but spreading false news & deliberately misinforming your community in such a tensed political climate in an election year is unpardonable. Here’s the full speech for your perusal,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, reacting to all of this, Prince David Osei said he was only making fun of the situation, citing that it was all parody.

“It is called PARODY!!! If you take it personal that’s your own headache, literature student will appreciate the exaggerated humor ? I am an artist,” he wrote on X.

Prince David Osei was among a group of actors who actively campaigned for Lydia Alhassan, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, leading her to victory in the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat against colleague John Dumelo.

However, as her term nears its end, Osei has criticized Alhassan’s leadership, claiming a perceived lack of responsiveness to constituents’ concerns and a failure to acknowledge her supporters, including himself.

During a recent interview on GhOne, Osei hinted at feeling undervalued, pointing out that despite enduring name-calling and public criticism for supporting Alhassan, he received no acknowledgment from her.

To avoid a repeat of feeling neglected, Prince David Osei expressed his intention to redirect his support to John Dumelo, emphasizing that Dumelo is also part of the entertainment industry and “one of us.”

“I feel like when people go all out for you, you don’t take them for granted. We stood on that platform and got a lot of insults because of Ma Lydia. I sent her PA a message alerting them of Legon students needing support, and I never got a response. So if after the insult and humiliation, you do nothing, then I will support John,” Osei explained.

Despite being known as an NPP sympathizer, Osei stated that it should not come as a surprise if he is seen actively campaigning for the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) John Dumelo in the future.

In his view, until Ghanaians start appreciating their creatives, the foreign ones will continue to dominate.

“Ghanaians should learn to appreciate and support our own talents, just as Nigerians do. This issue goes beyond the platform provided by PLAYGHANA. Until we change our mindset, show love, and pay more attention to our musicians, actors, sportsmen, and other creatives, nothing will change” Mr. Osei added in a post on Instagram.

Dear fellow Ghanaians, lend me your ears!

It is no secret that our neighboring country, Nigeria, has gained tremendous global recognition for their music. They have managed to market and promote their music effectively, captivating audiences all over the world. In the era of social media, proper marketing is crucial to ensure the impact and success of our creative endeavors.

Even if the DJs were to stop playing Nigerian music at parties and events, Ghanaians would still stream Nigerian music worldwide. This is a reality we must acknowledge. Artists like Black Sheriff, King Promise, Sark, Stonebwoy and Gyakie to mention but few, have witnessed their music being streamed more in Nigeria than in Ghana.

Furthermore, as an actor, I have come to notice that Nigerians tend to stream my movies more than Ghanaians. It is disheartening to see that a significant portion of the views on some of my movies on YouTube , reaching over 1.5 million, come from Nigeria specifically.

Ghanaians should learn to appreciate and support our own talents, just as Nigerians do. This issue goes beyond the platform provided by PLAYGHANA. Until we change our mindset, show love, and pay more attention to our musicians, actors, sportsmen, and other creatives, nothing will change.

In this era of social media, we cannot force anyone to listen to a certain kind of music or watch specific movies. However, we can make a difference by shifting our focus towards our own local talents and giving them the love and support they deserve.

Let us break free from the influence of foreign telenovelas that constantly air on our screens. Our families have become accustomed to them, but it is up to us to change this trend. Only through appreciation and support can we uplift and celebrate our own celebrities and superstars.

I urge you all to join me on this journey of embracing and magnifying the rich talents that we possess as Ghanaians. Together, we can make a difference and bring forth a brighter future for our creative industry.

Some NPP members are apprehensive about Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy but the actor said despite the attempts to tarnish his image, the truth remains that he [Bawumia] is the most deserving candidate to lead the NPP at this crucial time.

Speaking with conviction, Prince Osei firmly believes the Vice President will secure victory in the race scheduled for November 4.

He encouraged discerning delegates to vote for Dr. Bawumia, stressing the importance of choosing a leader who can lead the party to success.

Highlighting Dr. Bawumia’s significant contributions, Prince Osei mentioned key achievements, including the implementation of mobile interoperability, which has simplified money transactions across different networks and banks and the introduction of Zipline drones that has revolutionized healthcare delivery, benefiting over 2000 healthcare centers and saving lives.

He mentioned giant strides in digitalization efforts championed by Dr. Bawumia which has led to increased revenue for the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the reduction of fraudulent activities related to passport acquisition.

The actor also cited the introduction of the Ghana Card has streamlined data collection and enhanced crime-fighting capabilities in the country to buttress his point.

Based on this backdrop, Prince David Osei called on individuals denigrating Dr. Bawumia’s image to stop and approach the discussion with an open mind.

He believes Dr. Bawumia’s leadership holds great promise for the NPP and Ghana.

Taking to Instagram, he drew inspiration from America’s first Black President, Barrack Obama, and believed his dream would one day become a reality.

He mentioned that though the likes of Ivan Quashigah believed in his abilities, there were other film producers who worked behind the scenes to derail his efforts.

The Fortune Island actor said there were times his roles were even taken from him because some industry persons and those “who called the shot” felt he didn’t qualify for them.

Speaking at the third edition of the Graphic Showbiz Forum, he said but for his eagerness and drive to succeed, he would have given up and killed his dreams.

“I felt unwanted in the movie industry. There was this feeling like ‘where is he coming from?’ I felt that bad energy but all the victimisation kept me going.

“When I got casted for The Dead, people made mockery of me. Sometimes you go on set, they don’t give you room, you wear something and they tell you it’s too nice. At a point, it was me and Martha Ankomah, Opera Square stopped selling our movies.”

Speaking on the sidelines of his experience in the Ghanaian movie industry, he urged up-and-coming actors to remain steadfast in their commitment and persevere in the face of  deliberate saboteurs from industry saboteurs.

“It’s all about you attracting people. Don’t give up when you come face to face with these kinds of people who would sabotage you in the industry.”

The controversy arose when the renowned actress alleged that she had an abortion involving Sarkodie back in 2010 in her latest memoir.

Meanwhile, Prince David Osei has criticized Sarkodie for not only responding with a diss track but also resorting to slut-shaming in his latest song.

He described Sarkodie’s actions to be immature and below the belt, where he further expressed his opinion that anyone who engages in sexual relations with a woman and then proceeds to label her as a slut is displaying extreme ignorance.

Prince David Osei also urged others not to support such ‘foolish’ behaviour and emphasized the importance of respecting women.

Regarding Yvonne Nelson’s memoir titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” David Osei clarified that the actress did not intend to defame Sarkodie.

He stated that in the book, Nelson did not accuse Sarkodie of forcing her to have an abortion. Prince further emphasised that the book did not contain any insults or derogatory remarks about Sarkodie for him to insult Yvonne Nelson.

The NPP loyalist, who campaigned for President Akufo-Addo in 2020, made the post on his Twitter page and has sparked a massive debate online.

The actor and other celebrities endorsed the NPP’s ‘4 More To Do More’ campaign in the 2020 elections.

Bola Tinubu has been declared President-elect by the International National Electoral Commission.

According to the results, the 70-year-old veteran won by 36%.

His main rival Atiku Abubakar polled 29% and Peter Obi 25%. 

Mr Tinubu, who saw off a divided opposition party and a youth-backed third-party candidate, is set to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mr Tinubu is one of Nigeria’s richest politicians and based his campaign on his record of rebuilding the biggest city, Lagos when he was governor.

He was nevertheless defeated in the city by Mr Obi, a relative newcomer who mobilised the support of many young people, especially in urban areas, shaking up the country’s two-party system.

Mr Tinubu won most other states in his home region of the southwest, where he is known as a “political godfather”.

He campaigned for the presidency under the slogan: “It’s my turn”.

He succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari who is stepping down after two terms in office, marked by economic stagnation and growing insecurity around the country – from an Islamist insurgency in the north-east to a nationwide crisis of kidnapping for ransom and separatist attacks in the south-east.

The two have been spotted serving friendship goals after they reunited on a movie set.

In the video, Miss Ankomah recounted how Mr Osei has always been his lover in movies but was yet to establish the reason behind the coincidence.

In response, David asked that they make it a reality but in rebuttal, Martha stated no.

I receive threats for bashing govt – Prince David Osei

Fans and followers after sighting the video have expressed their excitement about the project.

This is because the actor, who was an astute promoter of NPP’s ‘4 More To Do More’ campaign in the last general election, has in the last few weeks been on “fire” and giving it back to back to the government for the country’s current economic distress.

His outspokenness, however, seems to come with a price he is paying by receiving threats.

“I have experienced my fair share of threats, insults, trolls and attacks but I am unperturbed because seriously, I can’t control how people feel about me,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, October 25.

According to the actor who has been featured in movies such as Lost, Fortune Island, Last Night, Hero, Forbidden among others, there’s always a price to pay for an act one indulges in and he was ready for that.

“God is with me in all that I do, so I shall not be moved. In life, you need to stand for something or you stand for nothing,” he said.

He noted he has always been enthusiastic about good governance and had been calling out successive governments since late President Atta Mills’ administration.

“I am not someone who is easily pressured. I live by my own rules. I believe in integrity and value for humanity. I have always been outspoken since the era of the late President Atta Mills. I am first a citizen, before a party lover and an aspiring politician.

“I stood on political platforms to campaign for my party NPP and H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, pleaded, persuaded, convinced Ghanaians to accept NPP’s 4 More To Do More, so it is just rational to speak for the same people when things aren’t going the way we all anticipated amid global economic issues,” he added.

He started giving a hint about his displeasure with the NPP government last year.

He, however, attracted attention when he threatened to stage a demonstration against the government if things didn’t change in a post on his social media pages early this month.

He gave more impetus to his criticisms of the government when he asked the president to be humble and seek help to change the economic fortunes of the country.

But while all these may seem too harsh coming from one who campaigned for NPP, he said his ultimate goal was to see a better Ghana for all citizens irrespective of their political affiliation.

“The NPP faithful are rather happy I spoke up and it’s a big inspiration to them. I interact with the streets always, so I know the atmosphere every time, sometimes, they give me a message to put out there since they know I have the voice and platform,” he stated.

In addition to the country’s economic woes, the actor is also not happy with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture saying “the ministry responsible for the Creatives has failed us.”

The last few years have not been good for the Ghanaian movie industry but according to Prince David Osei, things are getting better with Akwaaba Magic on DStv and ROKGh also on DStv financing local productions and content. “We all are a little busy, especially the upcoming ones. We are filming series and movies”.

Moving away from movies, Prince David said he was now concentrating on his, Pdo Travel & Tours Ltd and planning a trip dubbed London/Jamaica Fiesta in December with Kalybos as a way of building stronger bonds with their fans.

In an earlier post, the actor called on the youth to demonstrate with him in December 2022 against the government, but he had to be reminded that he labelled this same youth ‘jokers’ during the #FixTheCountry hashtag two years ago.

After slamming and calling him names, the actor seems unfazed about the whole situation.

Prince David Osei, prior and after the 2020 general election, had trumpeted his trust in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and jumped to its defense.

He championed the #Fixyourselffirst, to counter the citizenry’s #Fixthecountry agenda which sought to send a wake up call to the government on the low standard of living.

When he was advised against the government, his reply was epic: “Me I’m a sensible human being so I can’t support something which is bad. I reason and think logically.”

But, at the nosediving rate the economy is heading to, the actor has made a swift U-turn and called out the government for what he say is “determined move to inflict untoward hardship to the citizenry.”

He opined that all benefits of the doubt he has given the government have backfired and he reckons he was wrong to support the leadership.

To rectify his mistake, he has threatened to mobilise Ghanaians come December to demonstrate irrespective of party affiliation.

But, some Ghanaians have trashed his agenda, describing it as a mere façade.

Netizens have argued that the government has failed to ‘sort him out’, hence his move to make the ruling party unpopular.

With over 14k tweets and comments, the citizenry have reminded him of his comment that “he would be a fool to demonstrate against the NPP government.”

The aggrieved citizens have, therefore, vowed not to avail themselves for any demonstration they say is based on greed, selfishness and betrayal.

According to him, he will lead a protest if the taxes from E-levy are not used to improve the lives of the citizenry.

Taking his frustration to social media, Prince David Osei said there is so much misappropriation of state funds which in his opinion makes it difficult for people to trust government.

“We want to see improvement in the standard of living, we want to see growth in our economy, we want a higher GDP, we want our cedis stabilized against other currencies, we want our purchasing power back!!” he wrote.

Failure to see any improvement, Prince David Osei said he campaign against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be voted out of power.

To mark his daughter’s birthday, Prince posted on his Instagram some photos of his second child he calls by pet name Queen B.

In one of the four photos he posted, he could be seen stealing a kiss from his Queen B.

He captioned the photos “No DNA required ?❤️? Happy birthday Queen B, Daddy loves U.”

He prayed for Elohim’s 24/7 protection on his child.

Queen is one of Prince David’s three children. She has an elder brother and an adorable sister.

Thursday’s incident occurred when a truck conveying mining explosives collided with a motorcycle and a third vehicle close to an electricity transformer.

As a result, the town was reduced to rubble in the blast, killing some inhabitants and injuring many.

So far, over 500 homes have been affected by the blast and 17 people were confirmed dead by the Information Ministry, with about 59 injured as of Thursday.

But updates coming from the region indicate that the casualties could increase.

Reacting to the updates, musician Fuse ODG, who called the incident devastating, sent love and prayers to the affected families.

“I hope measures are put in place to avoid this from happening again,” he wrote.

Also reacting to the explosion was rapper Sarkodie, who prayed to God to heal the families of the deceased.

Meanwhile, Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured that measures are being put in place to construct temporary housing facilities for all displaced residents of Bogoso-Apiate.

He says the government has engaged the State Housing Corporation and mining companies to provide an instant haven for the stranded community members in the coming days.

Dr Bawumia said this when he led a government delegation to ascertain the state of affairs in the community after a vehicle carrying mining explosives exploded and reduced the whole settlement to ground zero.

In his view, men can never become women and vice versa, hence the debate beefing up on social media should be overlooked.

According to the actor, God told him when he was 17-years-old, adding that, God did not tell him the time the promise would be fulfilled.

Nonetheless, he said he is equipping himself with everything he needs to succeed as the leader of the nation.

“I will be the President of Ghana someday. In life, everybody and what God gives them. Sometimes you might look unqualified, you might [even] look like you are not the one. That has always been my story…I know who I am and who I trust in,” he said in an interview on Citi TV.

“The time I can’t tell but it will manifest,” he added.

David added that he has a personal relationship with God and that he believes in God’s promise to him.

“I’m one individual who believes in a personal relationship with God. I go to church, I respect my pastor but I do one on one with God such that I hear from God on a daily basis, I get direction from God and if something is going to happen to me, I get the hint before somebody confirms… I pray a lot. It’s a gift. I can pray forever,” he explained.

Asked how he was preparing himself towards that vision, Prince said, “when God calls you, he equips you. You need to do the basics. I mean, the basics is going to school, learning about leadership, governannce and international relation, knowing what the whole scope is about…then the grace of God will prevail. If it’s the same God who said it, He will do it.”

Prince David Osei was one of the celebrities who openly supported President Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party during the 2020 elections.

On why as a showbiz person he decided to publicly involve himself in partisan politics, David said campaigning for the NPP was just a stepping stone to help him fulfil his dream.

According to David, those who did not know about his political ambition and prophecy would not understand his move until it finally manifests one day.

Mr Osei took to his Instagram page to share the photo which featured his wife.

Projecting the popular “behind every successful man there is a woman” saying, the actor took the fore position while his wife took the rare.

Husband and wife beamed with smiles as the camera gazed at them.

Mr Osei backed the photo with a lovely message to eulogise his wife with whom he has been married for 18 years.

The actor has revealed on his Instagram that but for the intervention of God, his story would have been different.

Despite the severity of the crash that happened on a busy highway, Prince revealed he came out unscratched.

“Front tyre got burst; was maneuvering the car on the busy highway, finally I hit the pavement that divides the road, as to how the car came to a halt I don’t know, my life was literally flashing through my face,” he gave details of the accident.

His almost fatal ordeal has led him to brag about how it is impossible to take down a praying man who walks not in the flesh but spirit.

According to him, President Nana Akufo-Addo is trusting Ghanaians to be responsible to help minimise the risks coronavirus pose.

“Because on a more serious note for how long can a lockdown go? At the end of the day, the economy needs to run (and) people were complaining,” Mr Osei told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

The actor explained that if everyone does their part in limiting the coronavirus’ transmission, the number of infected person’s will minimise.

“We go out there with the intention of everyone is positive, so you need to be careful. As citizens this fight is our fight it’s in our hands it all boils down to being responsible citizens and taking care of our selves,” he said.

In an interview with NEWS-ONE yesterday, he said the needy and orphanages stand a higher risk in the pandemic times like this, and therefore, asked all, including his friends in showbiz to offer help.

“Attention needs to be paid to the orphanage, most people can’t go there physically because of social distancing but I bet their moneys can go through Mobile Money (MoMo), so they can also stock the orphanage homes with foodstuffs or better still folks can donate foodstuffs to them following the precautionary measures,” Prince David added.

“I am calling on my friends and fans! Please in times like these let us not forget the needy and orphanages. Nothing is too small, because of social distancing, I have sent money through MoMo to the Potter’s Village,” he indicated.

During the Town Hall in Kumasi, a meeting to account for the party’s manifesto promises, Dr. Bawumia stated categorically the party has fared better than the previous government in accomplishing a lot for the country.

Doubting the claims, Prince, questioned Bawumia on his “corruption that is smearing your administration and the 1 Region 1 cinema” as promised in 2016.

Prince David Osei is demanding a direct response from the Veep whose official account he tagged in his Twitter post.

In an open Instagram ‘letter’ to Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Mr Osei disagreed with the association for demanding an apology from veteran actor Kofi Adjorolo for calling out producers who owe him.

FIPAG called on Mr Adjorlolo to render an unqualified apology to the association within 14 days for denting the image of its members or face their wrath.

However, the actor cum producer, described the movie producers as ‘mad’, and explained it was unfair for some members of the association to lift their voices against a senior actor for simply demanding wages he toiled hard for.

Throwing shades at the “so called producers” Mr Osei, who has been in the industry for 16 years, said a move by FIPAG to reject actors who have evolved into the movie production set up is born out of greed.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s ‘This is Gospel’ show, the actor revealed that he started believing in the power of prayer at age eight.

According to him, his faith in God strengthened when his prayer of being first in his primary one class was answered.

“My dreams still manifest in physical as the spirit of God reveals to me. I’m spiritual, highly prayerful and selfless because the intention is to affect the lives of people,” he revealed.
