The suspect, Kofi Emma, popularly known as Blackee, is said to have had a close relationship with the deceased and had allegedly been giving her money in an attempt to win her affection.

According to sources, the incident followed a disagreement over an amount of GH₵100. Theresa reportedly requested the money from the suspect, claiming she needed it to repair her standing fan before allowing him to visit her. After the money was sent, she allegedly stopped responding to his calls.

Angered by her alleged refusal to communicate, the suspect is said to have demanded a refund and issued threats when the money was not returned. Reports indicate that he later allegedly poisoned some medication and sent it to the deceased through a messenger.

Theresa’s condition reportedly deteriorated shortly after taking the medication, and she was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Medical officials are said to have confirmed that she ingested a toxic substance.

The suspect is currently on the run, while the police have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest him. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

In an interview with Emelia Brobbey on the Okukuseku Show, on Adom TV, the hitmaker of “Yesu Do,” said people in the gospel industry tried to poison him.

Mr. Nketsiah explained that, he had a show in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region and had to stop by a radio station for an interview.

He said other gospel artistes joined him on the show, but it was Nketsiah who garnered all the attention from callers.

“I went for a programme in Obuasi. Before that programme, I went for an interview; I was very popular, so anyone who called on the show wanted to speak with me. Also, I was at the radio station with my other colleagues in the industry, who got jealous because the callers didn’t recognise their presence,” he told the host.

After the interview, he returned to his hotel and ordered a meal. While preparing for the event, he heard a commotion outside his room. When he stepped out to investigate, he discovered that a ‘mad man’ from nowhere had poured the food on the ground.

Amid the uproar, Nketsiah noticed a change in the colour of his meal, leading him to believe it had been poisoned and that the stranger’s actions had inadvertently saved him.

“I went back to my hotel to prepare for the programme that made me travel to Obuasi. I ordered food before going to freshen up. I was in the bathroom when I heard noises in the hotel’s parlour. I went out to find out what was happening. Not knowing, a mentally ill person had entered the hotel and poured the food I ordered away. Amidst the commotion, the colour of my food changed. My food was poisoned,” he added.
