Speaking to Joy FM over the weekend he told Showbiz A-Z host Kwame Dadzie that a lot of NDC sympathizers verbally assault him because of his choice of Presidential candidate.

When asked if he had faced challenges as a gospel musician who has declared his political stance, he said: “I am facing a lot of challenges in the form of insults, because in this country if you involve yourself in politics, one thing you should be aware of before you enter is insult. They will insult you because you are not part of them. The NDC people, almost everybody is insulting me for supporting Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as if he not a Ghanaian.”

He noted that John Mahama will plunge Ghana in an unpleasant situation if he is given the mandate to rule the nation again.

“I have a good reason for supporting him because I know for sure that if we don’t take and we relax because we are celebrities and that we need to protect our brands and we sit down quietly, and former President Mahama is voted into power again in this country, the first thing he will do is to cancel the free senior high school policy,” he said.

Nicholas is not the only celebrity that has thrown his weight behind the NPP’s Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. Others are actor Prince David Osei, gospel singer Diana Asamoah, music producer Appietus, among others.

On the side of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are actors Wayoosi, Big Akwes, musician Nacee, comedian DKB and gospel musician Jak Alolome.

Jak Alolome who has done a campaign song for the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, John Mahama, has stated that he did that not for financial benefits.

He said on Showbiz A-Z that he did the song out of his free will to support the ideals of Mahama.

In the meantime, the creative sector is girding up for the industry’s thought-leadership event dubbed MANIFESTO DEBATE ON CREATIVE ECONOMY.

On September 14, 2024, all stakeholders of Ghana’s tourism, arts and culture will be gathered in the studio of Joy Prime for the 5th edition of Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable.

This season, Joy FM is offering platform for political parties to present their policy ideas on Ghana’s creative economy.

The Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy will air live on Joy FM and Joy Prime on September 14, 2024, from 2 PM to 6 PM.

Gospel singer, Nicholas Omane Acheampong has reiterated his belief that, former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama is not suited for the presidency.

He maintained that, Mr. Mahama lacks the capacity to address the needs of Ghanaians.

In an interview on Oyerepa TV, Mr. Omane Acheampong stated unequivocally that, a vote for the former President will spell doom for Ghanaians.

“This is Mahama’s final shot at the presidency, and if he is elected, I fear he will retaliate for the 2016 and 2020 electoral loss. My assertion remains that he will show indifference towards the Ghanaian populace” he stated.

When asked to apologise for inciting Ghanaians against the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the popular musician declined.

“Why should I apologise to NDC supporters? Did I offend anyone?” he quizzed.

Only lazy celebs complain of hard times over political support – Omane Acheampong http://34.58.148.58/only-lazy-celebs-complain-of-hard-times-over-political-support-omane-acheampong/ Fri, 28 Aug 2020 18:06:07 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1846741 Gospel musician , Nicholas Omane Acheampong, has dismissed claims that celebrities who have gone public about their political affiliations often end up broke.

There are countless reports about entertainment personalities who have shown their political colours being negatively affected; some lose out on lucrative deals or roles which ultimately leaves them worse off but for Mr Acheampong, it is only lazy celebrities who complain.

He said if a celebrity is talented there is no way he or she should be affected by campaigning for a political party.

“I admire someone like John Dumelo, despite coming out strongly to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) his popularity has not gone down and he is still doing extremely well.

“Anyone who would hide behind a political party and say he is not doing well because he publicly campaigned for that party is just lazy,” he told host Nana Ama McBrown.

Nicholas Omane Acheampong, who has pitched his camp with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the years, indicated that he is very confident about President Nana Akufo-Addo winning another four-year term and he is readying to drop a powerful song for him after the elections.

“Nana Addo has succeeded in convincing me to campaign for the NPP with their good messages. The free SHS alone is enough reason for me to vote and campaign for them,” he said.

He stated emphatically that ex-president John Mahama will never become the president of Ghana again.

“Mark my words, John Mahama is never winning this election. It is a straight win for the NPP. I, therefore, urge everyone to vote massively for NPP so that Nana Addo can continue his good works,” he said.

Omane Acheampong ‘begs’ Mahama ahead of election 2020 http://34.58.148.58/omane-acheampong-begs-mahama-ahead-of-election-2020/ Tue, 04 Aug 2020 13:05:37 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1835932 Ghanaian gospel musician, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, has appealed to former President John Mahama to step aside for President Nana Akufo-Addo to complete a second term.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo is embarking on a lot of policies which have affected the lives of Ghanaians and needs another term to complete.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM, the ZaphenathPaneah hitmaker subtly pushed the ‘Four more 4 Nana’ agenda as he made a strong case for the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

“The implementation of the free SHS policy has helped many children and parents in the country; the less-privileged in society have benefited immensely so there is the need for Akufo-Addo to be retained to continue the good works,” he said.

Live worship is not killing creativity – Nacee tells Omane Acheampong http://34.58.148.58/live-worship-not-killing-creativity-nacee-tells-omane-acheampong/ Tue, 30 Jan 2018 15:38:39 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=885371 Ghanaian gospel musician, Nacee has debunked assertions that live worship performances by gospel artistes diminish their creativity.
Many radio stations seem to have adopted the style of inviting gospel singers into their studios to lead their listeners in worship sessions.
But the ‘Zaphenath Panea” hitmaker speaking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz said more gospel artistes are following the trend in performing songs created by others, and not making an effort to create their own songs.

He added that the Gospel music industry will lack talented and spirit-filled musicians and writers like the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Yaw Sarpong, Tagoe Sisters and himself.
But in an interview with Nacee on the Daybreak Hitz show, he rebutted the assertions of Omane Acheampong, saying he doesn’t believe live worship can affect the creativity or brand of a gospel artiste.
According to him, radio stations are always after contents that will easily generate revenue for their companies hence he cannot fathom how that would affect an artiste.
Buttressing his point, Nacee said: “content is not stagnant so it depends on the radio or TV station; if they want it [Live Worship] fine… If you think it is not your style, don’t go and waste or kill your brand…’ he told Andy Dosty.

He further advised members in the gospel guild to desist from unnecessary noise making whenever they engage in live worship shows on radio.
The astute gospel musician indicated that most of the gospel musicians shout on top of their voices rather than sing to entice their audience professionally.
Now, it has become like the order of the day as worship songs are all about shouting; we have made it like when you do that you are a true worshiper”, the ‘E be God’ hitmaker said.
He added that the image we have tamed for the live worship is becoming like if you shout, you are a good singer but that is not it. I have a soft voice and if I shout, I will lose my voice…’ he maintained.
