According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the station received a distress call around 12:28 a.m. and quickly dispatched a crew to the scene.

Upon arrival, the firefighters found a Man Diesel cargo truck with registration number BF 9339G703 engulfed in flames. The truck was loaded with boxes of Onga Cube products.

Eyewitnesses reportedly attempted to control the blaze with buckets of water before the fire crew arrived.

Firefighters then used a delivery hose to fully extinguish the flames, preventing further damage to property and nearby structures.

No casualties were recorded, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Authorities have commended the Konongo-Odumase fire crew for their swift and professional response, which helped avert what could have been a major disaster.

Dadieso residents block Accra-Kumasi highway after tanker accident [Video] http://34.58.148.58/nnadieso-residents-block-accra-kumasi-highway-after-tanker-accident-video/ Sat, 04 May 2024 14:26:35 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2389784

Residents of Dadieso near Kwahu in the Eastern region have blocked the Accra-Kumasi highway following a tanker accident in the township.

The road block on Saturday was to express their frustration over a gas tanker which has been abandoned at the accident scene.

The town folks blocked the highway using wooden materials and tree branches, resulting in huge vehicular traffic on the stretch.

However, a convoy decided to force its way through, but the youth resisted, causing security men attached to the convoy to fired warning shots which brought about the controversy.

Fearing a potential explosion, some residents have fled the town to places of safety.

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service has been dispatched to the site to safely move the gas tank and prevent any potential disaster.
