He said as the leader of the Economic Management Team, Dr Bawumia’s role was to help drive the economy to a state that would make the living conditions of Ghanaians better but instead, he led the economy to a state of high cost of living.

The Northern Regional Chairman said this when he addressed the party faithful in Yendi after a health and unity walk. The walk organized by the parliamentary aspirations who lost at the primary was to show their support to the NDC candidate for Yendi ahead of the December elections.

Mr Adolf said Dr Bawumia had suddenly become mute when it came to discussions on the economy.

“Today, can he come out and talk about the economy? When was the last time Bawumia spoke about the economy and you think President Mahama would waste his time debating a non-performing Vice president like you?” he asked.

Mr Adolf claimed Dr Bawumia was the worst vice president in Ghana’s history.

“One dollar was four Ghana cedis and you said that was the worst performance and you were coming to arrest the dollar and you will give the key to the IGP. Today, where is the dollar? It has broken jail,” the Northern Regional Chairman.

He noted that when Dr. Bawumia was the Vice Presidential candidate, he stated that teachers, doctors, nurses, and other workers in Ghana were suffering.

He added that the NPP government collapsed several banks, arguing that the funds used for the collapse could have been injected to help the banks perform better.

Despite this, the government chose not to support them, and now they seek to return to power.

The Regional Chairman highlighted the trickling effect of all the collapsed banks including the loss of jobs, it’s impact on the economy among others.

He said the NDC’s 24-hour economy and the women’s bank would help provide jobs for the people when the NDC returns to power.

He said the NDC is posed for power and is working towards winning the December polls adding that this year’s election is not an election between the NDC and the NPP but the NPP and Ghanaians.

The Regional Chairman said substantive governments in the past handed over power peacefully and they expect the current president to do the same when his tenure comes to an end.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended its Northern Regional Vice-Chairman following deliberations between national and regional executives in Accra.

Alhaji Gbewaa is reported to have attacked Hajia Shamima Yakubu at the party’s regional secretariat after disagreements over party finances got heated over the weekend.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Midday News, Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande explained that, the officer “has been suspended for three months.”

Mr Gbande said this is “pending investigations and all other processes that will enable the party to look into the issues properly for a final redress.”

The altercation saw the Northern Regional Treasurer sustain injuries to her face.

The tensions reached a boiling point during a crucial stakeholder meeting last weekend.

Gbewaa was later arrested and released on bail.

However, his supporters, angered by the development, locked up the regional party office yesterday in protest.

NDC executives in urgent efforts to mend internal divisions convened a meeting in Accra to deliberate on the matter resulting in the suspension.
