Held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the exercise provided much-needed healthcare services to a local population with limited access to regular medical care.

Fully equipped medical teams from GHANBATT set up screening and treatment points offering general consultations, ear, nose and throat (ENT) services, eye examinations, and dental care. Residents were thoroughly examined and given essential medications free of charge to manage diagnosed conditions.

Speaking during the exercise, Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Officer Captain Erica Frimpong Tenkorang said the initiative aimed to bridge healthcare gaps and strengthen the relationship between peacekeepers and the local community.

“GHANBATT 92 remains committed to delivering timely, people-centred interventions that positively impact the daily lives of host communities,” she added.

The Director of the Social Development Centre in Ayta Ash Shaab, Dr. (Med) Siham Droubi, lauded the outreach as both timely and crucial, noting that the medical support came at a time when consistent healthcare services were difficult to access for many residents.

GHANBATT 92’s outreach forms part of UNIFIL’s broader mandate to promote stability while supporting humanitarian and developmental needs within host communities in southern Lebanon.
