The deceased, identified as Ganiu Zackaria, popularly known as No Pen, was discovered at dawn on Thursday, October 23, with his motorcycle and a black goat lying beside him.

According to residents, Ganiu, who lived and worked in Damongo, was allegedly trailed by unknown assailants who attacked and slit his throat in the early hours of the morning.

A community leader in the area, Ahmed, told JoyNews that the community woke up to the tragic discovery.

“I was still in bed when my younger brother came and woke me up with the sad news. Yes, I know him — he’s a motor mechanic from Damongo, and they call him No Pen. What I saw was that his killers followed him from somewhere and finally got him. They slaughtered his throat and left a goat and his motorcycle beside him,” he recounted.

The chilling scene has left residents in shock, with some linking the murder to recent reports of livestock theft in Damongo.

The Damongo-wura, Seidu Kelly, and his elders had earlier cautioned youth—especially those involved in the sale of roasted meat—to desist from criminal activity following several theft incidents in the area.

Though such incidents had subsided in recent months, Ganiu’s death has reignited public fear and speculation about possible motives behind the killing.

Sources at the Savannah Regional Police Command have confirmed that officers have taken custody of the body and deposited it at the St. Anne’s Catholic Hospital mortuary in Damongo for preservation and autopsy.

Police say no arrests have been made yet, but investigations are ongoing.

I beat him to stop but he doesn’t listen – Mother of 6-year-old mechanic http://34.58.148.58/i-beat-him-to-stop-but-he-doesnt-listen-mother-of-6-year-old-mechanic/ Mon, 24 May 2021 12:36:06 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1963441 The mother of the six-year-old Nigerian lad, Benjamin, who had trended on social media after photos of him working as a mechanic surfaced has reacted to the development.

The woman, identified as Chidinma Ekechukwu, said that her son is non-persuasive and stubborn.

Chidinma stated that when he initially told her of his intention to learn the mechanic work, there was no going back as all efforts at getting him to stop ended in futility.

In a recent interview with BBC News Pidgin, she remarked about how Benjamin had turned all of his trousers into shorts for the purpose of the work.

MORE:

Chidinma, however, finds no fault in the skill her son is acquiring as she thought there is nothing different from what he is engaged in compared to others that acquire skills in computer training and other less-energy demanding ventures.

As against many people’s insinuations, the proud mum said her son is not a drop-out.

He is, in fact, enrolled in school and currently in primary two but combines academics with his work.

She reiterated her desire to make him quit the job but laments about how it would make him sad.

A woman claims she had a one month experience undersea, and the tales accompanying her bizarre journey are jaw-dropping.

The middle-aged woman recounted how her service as a maid ended abruptly following the death of her master.

However, due to her kindness, she said her boss gifted her a diamond ring and that was the beginning of all her woes.

She said, the ring housed a spirit which was the source of her boss’ wealth, which literally meant she was next to perform rituals for the said deity.

But, with her Christian background, the woman said she declined. However, she was still transported undersea to serve as a warning for the doom yet to happen to her.

While undersea, she was presumed dead in the real world.

Speaking on Nhyira FM’s ‘Ewiase Mu Nsem’, she said she saw prominent persons and pastors, both dead and alive serving marine deities.

One of the shocking names she mentioned was Castro, who to date has not been found after a tragic jet-ski accident.

The dark entertainment icon is said to have bleached and his skin radiating like a Caucasian.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, the Assin Fosu Municipal Fire Commander, DO1 Charles Semekor, explained their vehicle had broken down at the time the call for their help came through and there was nothing they could do.

“The Assin Fosu Fire Service Station was contacted at the initial stage of the disaster but we couldn’t go to the scene because the fire tender had developed a mechanical fault so we were waiting for maintenance officers and since we are not supermen, there was no way we could have quenched the fire,” he justified.
