The motive behind the teacher’s untimely death remains unknown.

The deceased, who also worked as a taxi driver, taught at Assin Dompim Academy Basic School. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Sources at the school indicated that Mr. Quanoo had been absent from work for some time and only resumed duties yesterday.

However, he reportedly left the campus around 12 noon after the second break, informing colleagues that he was going home to seek medical attention.

Tragically, news later emerged that he had allegedly hanged himself in his room at Assin Fosu using a skipping rope tied to a crossbar.

In a heartbreaking development, his two daughters, aged eight and seven, are said to have raised the alarm after returning home from school and finding their father unresponsive.

The case has since been reported to the police, and investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a related development, a 43-year-old farmer, identified as Ato Kwamena, is also reported to have shot himself at Assin Betinsinso in the Assin Fosu Municipality.

According to relatives, the deceased allegedly phoned one of his brothers shortly after the incident, informing him that he had shot himself and urgently needed help.

He was rushed to a nearby health facility but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Both incidents have been reported to the police, and investigations are ongoing.

The court, presided over by Osman Abdul-Hakeem, convicted the accused on his own plea, and sentenced him accordingly.

He was sentenced to five, seven and 10 years each for assault, for inflicting multiple cutlass wounds and attempted murder with the sentence going consecutively.

Detective Chief Inspector S. K. Gavor, prosecuting, informed the court that Anas inflicted multiple cutlass wounds on his pregnant wife on a farm in Banda on May 28, 2024, without provocation.

He said investigations indicated that the suspect invaded his wife’s house at about 0100 hours without her notice and knocked on the door but did not have access of entry.

He said the following morning, the suspect ambushed the wife and butchered her severally, and was taken to the Banda Health Centre and later referred to Kpandai Polyclinic for further medical treatment.

Chief Inspector Gavor said the victim had since been discharged from the hospital.

Anas, in response to the charges, said he did not intend to butcher his wife on the farm, but she broke his head with a stick, resulting in blood oozing out, which infuriated him to attack her.

A man tried to smuggle more than 100 live snakes into mainland China by stuffing them in his trousers, according to custom officials.

The unnamed traveller was stopped after passing through the “nothing to declare” gate at the crossing between semi-autonomous Hong Kong and the city of Shenzhen, officials said.

Upon inspection, he had 104 snakes in “six canvas drawstring bags” inside his trousers, a statement from China Customs said.

“Each bag was found to contain living snakes in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colours,” it added.

Video released by Chinese customs shows a pair of agents peering into transparent plastic bags filled with live red, pink and white snakes.

They were mostly small, but it is a large and squirmy haul of slithering reptiles for anyone to carry in their trousers.

Local police say a man from Osnabruck in north-west Germany has been detained.

They added that there is currently no evidence that the man intended to endanger spectators at the Westfalenstadion, which is the home of Borussia Dortmund.

Authorities said on Saturday that they were using a helicopter to illuminate the roof in a bid to find the man, who had been spotted by fellow spectators climbing the interior of the stadium.

The match had to be temporarily suspended in the 35th minute because of a thunderstorm, but Germany’s 2-0 win took the hosts through to the quarter-finals.

The individual, wanted by Police, fabricated a miraculous healing of his purported blindness, which subsequently garnered attention on social media platforms.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the 67-year-old suspect falsely claimed to have been miraculously cured of a 22-year-long blindness, a testimony at the convention that quickly spread across various social media platforms.

The Kasoa Area of The Church of Pentecost initiated a thorough investigation into the authenticity of the alleged healing and conducted an assessment of the suspect’s living conditions.

Meanwhile, plans were underway to provide housing and startup capital for him and his family, until it was discovered that he staged the entire ordeal.

Simultaneously, the Ghana Police Service launched an investigation upon viewing the viral video, leading to the tracking and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

A statement issued by Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, addressed the incident, stating: “One incident occurred (healing of the blind man) which turned out to be fake. The supposed blind man has turned out to be an alleged criminal who has caused a lot of atrocities and has been hiding from facing the law. He has now been exposed and handed over to the Police.”

Furthermore, the statement urged members of the church to refrain from discussing or sharing information about the fabricated miracle on social media platforms.

Nonetheless, Apostle Asare also emphasized the importance of obtaining permission from the Area media committee before disseminating any information related to the church on social media platforms, in an effort to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Augustine, now 25- years-old, shared his story in an interview with GhPage TV, detailing the events leading up to the incident.

He revealed that, after completing secondary school, he travelled to Dubai where he made a of of money to support himself and others.

Among those he sought to assist was his former girlfriend from secondary school days, whom he had hoped to help finish her education and improve her life prospects.

However, he said the lady was no more interested in the relationship and he opted out but promised to support her education.

Little did he know, this decision would lead to a horrific act of violence.

Just days before his departure from Ghana, Augustine claimed his ex-girlfriend hired someone to douse him in acid.

The attack left him with severe burns and was on admission at the hospital for nearly three months.

In a chilling twist, Augustine claimed he recognized the assailant’s voice during the attack and called out his ex-girlfriend’s name in anguish as he struggled with the excruciating pain.

Fortunately, bystanders rushed him to Okomfo Anokye Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Despite his injuries, Augustine managed to identify the perpetrator to the police, leading to his arrest and subsequent conviction.

The assailant, who reportedly used an auto-rickshaw (known locally as “Pra Gyia”) during the attack, was sentenced to ten years in prison.

As Augustine continues to recover from the physical and emotional trauma, he remains resolute in his quest to seek justice.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the man, who travelled from South Carolina, walked up to Rihanna’s home Thursday where he was almost immediately greeted by her security.

TMZ source say the man claimed he was there to propose to the singer, and Rihanna’s team called the cops right away.

When officers arrived, they put the man in handcuffs, got him in a car and had a serious chat about his intentions.

TMZ sources say it was determined the man — dressed in a red Nike hoodie — had not broken any laws, though he was asked to leave and told not to return.

It was back in 2018 when a man named Eduardo Leon was arrested inside Rihanna’s L.A.-area home.

Leon allegedly had been inside the home for at least a day, while Rihanna was out of town, before he was discovered. He allegedly told cops he was there to have sex with the singer.

Scary situation all around, especially because Rihanna has a young family, with another child on the way.

José Salvador Alvarenga had been fishing for sharks in Mexico for decades, but on one fateful day in November 2012, a doomed fishing trip would go on to become a barely believable tale of survival.

José – who was 33 on the day of that trip – normally fished the Pacific Ocean for a couple of days at a time with his friend; however, his pal was unavailable, so he took inexperienced dayworker Ezequiel Córdoba, who was 22.

Initially, the trip was proving to be surprisingly fruitful, so when a storm began to set in they decided to keep fishing. But this proved to be a very bad decision indeed.

As they attempted to return to land, waves flooded the engine and they drifted out to sea, where they were battered by the storm, losing most of the equipment they had on board.

The storm didn’t let up for a whole tortuous week, and by the time it had passed, they were completely lost in their small, camouflaged, blue and white boat. And in the week that followed, they nearly died of thirst as they had no water and it didn’t rain.

But while plastic pollution may be killing our planet, it actually helped to save José and Ezequiel, who collected more than 70 bottles, which they filled when it finally rained.

As for their diet, they had to be resourceful.

Speaking on the How To! podcast, journalist Jonathan Franklin – author of 438 Days – explained: “The first month they were eating turtles because they were close to shore and there were lots of sea turtles.

“They would grab the sea turtles, kill them, and then collect the blood and drink glass after glass of the blood, which turns out is extremely healthy and gives you energy. And then they would cook the meat.

“There were also little sharks that would follow them and if the sharks were small enough, less than maybe two or three feet, Alvarenga would wait until they were next to the boat and grab them by the back fin.

“They would eat the shark livers because it turns out that the shark liver is full of all sorts of oils and nutrition. They just had this crazy diet of turtles and shark liver.”

As they drifted further out, they had to be more creative – and cruel – to survive.

They would wait till birds landed on a stick on their boat, and after waiting patiently to strike, they would grab the bird and break one of its wings. This way, they were able to amass dozens of birds on the boat, so they had an ongoing food supply.

But beyond all this, a key to survival was staying sane, and it didn’t help that José and Ezequiel were very different people – the former a party animal, and the latter an evangelical Christian.

As such, it was vital that they used their imaginations, and Jonathan said that José told him he actually had the best meals and the best sex of his life all in his mind during those 438 days at sea.

He said: “It was funny because basically the guy who has deep faith was seeing all sorts of spiritual images and the other guy who is a party monster was probably seeing tequila bottles.

“When they saw airplanes go by, they would imagine out loud, ‘What do you think they’re having?’ They would create these amazing feasts imagining that the people in the airplanes were eating.

“Alvarenga would imagine that he’s walking down the beach and seeing some girl he’s always been flirting with—it’s this alternative reality that keeps him alive. And he said, “Jonathan, the best meals of my life were those imaginary meals I had at sea. The best sex I had in my life was the imaginary sex’.”

Sadly, Ezequiel died 10 weeks in, after a poisoned bird made him fearful of eating and he wasted away.

José was eventually found in the Marshall Islands in the central Pacific, 6,700 miles from where he had set off from 438 days earlier.

The suspect, Richard Kofi, was picked up at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Akaa Buem in Jasikan in the Oti Region.

In the video, the man, believed to be his father, whacks the boy off his feet with what appears like the branch of a scrub and continues a ghastly assault while the boy crawls.

Undeterred by the boy’s pitchy cries, the suspect lifts the boy up and continues the beating. He whips the boy at least 21 times in the 1:18 minute video.

At Akaa Buem on Wednesday, the community was stirred up after the police went in to pick up the suspect. He was taken to the chief’s palace, where his alleged crime was explained and whisked away in a Toyota van.

The police also picked up the suspect’s wife, who lives in a house separate from the husband. The child was also rescued from the house and placed in the care of the police.

The arrest comes barely 24 hours after the police issued a statement Tuesday, slapping a 2,000 cedi bounty on the man.

While being transported out of the community, the suspect insisted he had done nothing wrong. He was heard swearing and threatening to harm those who reported him to the police.

Martin Stampa from Zambia stayed in a house for 15 years, and he was paying 3,500 kwacha, which is the equivalent of GHS 1,800, every month.

His wife was the one who always took the rent to his “landlord.”

On one fateful day, the couple had an altercation after the wife, Lushomo, discovered that her husband was having an extramarital affair.

Hateful words were exchanged, and Martin allegedly told his wife that he got a side chick because he wanted someone who was intelligent and who had smart conversations.

This riled Lushomo, who ended up spilling the beans and telling Martin that he’s not intelligent enough as he has been paying her R3626 every month because the house they stay in belongs to her.

On seeing the house’s title deeds, Martin lost consciousness and collapsed. People had to drench him with bucketfuls of water to wake him up.

His first tattoo was of an ant that he got on his right forearm when he was 21 years old. 

“The first one I got was a red queen ant. She got pregnant and that’s where it all spawned,” explained Mike.

Many would deduce that Mike enjoys entomology or simply loves the look of bugs.

However, that’s far from the truth.

“A lot of people think I like bugs – actually it’s the complete opposite. I’m afraid of bugs, I hate bugs. But is has multiple meanings, that’s why I put them all over my body.” – Mike Amoia

“It’s some dark meaning, but more of a positive message .”

He also has other creepy crawlies tattooed on his body, including spiders and two massive millipedes. These don’t count towards the record total however, as they are not technically insects – spiders are arachnids and millipedes are myriapods.

The millipede on his chest is 17 inches wide and 19 inches long, and he also has a 50-inch one on his back.

Mike’s tattoos can attract a lot of attention when he’s out and about. 

“People always come up to me and talk to me about my work.” 

“I guess I have to expect it; but when they learn about my story they start to formulate a completely different opinion of me.”

“Hopefully I can open up some people’s minds so they can realize, you know, there’s a few ways to look at things and don’t judge a book by its cover, I guess.”

Mike is a music producer, starting his career when he was 22, and has worked with many high-profile clients. 

He has also started various businesses including Vidiots, Switchblade Entertainment Group and Mibe Music. It’s fair to say that the New York native has enjoyed incredible professional success. 

“It’s always funny because any time I put these [tattoos] on [my body] everybody said it would deter me from getting a job or making any sort of real money.”

“Now, twenty something years later, I’m using it to actually raise money and awareness.”

Mike has a plan to utilise his record-breaking artwork to create a unique NFT (non-fungible token), which can be sold to raise money for a cause close to his heart. 

Mike sits on the board at For a Bright Future, a foundation that donates equipment and money to “underprivileged, underrepresented kids.”

“If I can create an NFT out of these tattoos and validate it with Guinness World Records then we can donate some of the proceeds back to these kids.”

“My tattoos have a personal meaning to me as it takes me back to my childhood, and I figure it’s a nice full circle story.”

Dada pleaded guilty to escaping from lawful custody and theft and begged for leniency.

The Judge, Mr Sulyman Ola, however, gave the convict an option to pay a fine of N40,000 (GH¢ 749) for the two-count charge and warned him to desist from committing crime.

Mr Ola ordered the convict to pay the N13,200, belonging to his fellow detainee which he stole from police counter.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the accused was in detention in the cell at the Efab Estate police station on April 29, in connection with a case of gym equipment, iPhone and car battery theft.

Ogada said a police officer opened the cell and brought out two suspects, and that the accused used the opportunity and smartly moved from the cell to the counter, where he stole the money and escaped from custody.

The prosecutor said he was later tracked down and re-arrested by the police.

Meanwhile, the court, in a separate case, also  sentenced him to another nine months imprisonment for stealing his employer’s gym equipment.

He pleaded guilty to criminal breach of trust and theft and begged the court for leniency.

The judge, Mr Sulyman Ola, gave Dada an option to pay a fine of N25,000 (GH¢ 468) and ordered him to pay N520,000 (GH¢ 9,742) as compensation to the complainant.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant, Kenny Umeyi, reported the matter at the Efab police station on April 27, that the accused who was his driver stole his three gym equipment worth N500,000, one iPhone Max 10 valued at N80,000 and one car battery valued at N20,000.

The prosecutor added that during police investigation, the convict made a confessional statement admitting to the crime.

The daredevil was seen in a viral video displaying his climbing skill on two long flexible bamboo stems.

The envelope-pushing stunts sent shivers down the spine of the people watching him.

But luck run out on him when the bamboo stems broke and he came crashed on the floor.

Though onlookers rushed to save him, he had already landed on the floor with his neck.

Instead of opening the jars, the father purportedly left them untouched for a year so that they could have “enough medicinal properties.”

After the year-long marination, the man claims he decided to finally open the jars and administer the traditional Chinese medicine, only to find that all three of the venomous snakes “came back to life” before one of them bit him.

After being rushed to the hospital, he was treated immediately and reportedly survived the incident.

Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners believe that snake wine contains several health benefits and can even be a cure for rheumatism, arthritis and the flu.

The drink is often prepared by fitting a snake inside a jar of alcohol, usually rice wine, and leaving it there to marinate for months.

Some experts said that what happened to the father was not entirely strange since snakes can supposedly live inside a jar of alcohol for 12 months without dying, especially if the lid is left slightly open for air to enter.

However, herpetologist Wolfgang Wüster argued that what happened was “biologically impossible.”

“No snake can survive submerged in any kind of liquid in a bottle for more than an hour or so as a maximum,” Wüster told Newsweek.

“Snakes have no magical powers, they are made of flesh and bone like any other animal, and require food, water and oxygen to survive.”

Some snake species are able to enter a state of brumation, which is similar to hibernation for reptiles, when certain conditions are met, such as very low temperatures.

During brumation, they require less oxygen and their metabolism slows.

The two-minutes-48-seconds video captured a young man confessing in the selfie-video how his brothers together with some of his neighbours burnt a visitor who came to seek refuge from them.

Narrating the incident without clearly giving out where the incident happened, the young man said the alleged thief approached them for shelter and after providing the said man with a room he decided to rob them.

According to A Plus, the purpose of sharing the video was to call on the rightful authorities to confirm if the act is true or not for further investigations.

Fridaus shown the power of love and forgiveness when he accepted his former lover back and even made her the mother of his two children after she made an attempt to end his life.

The reason, he said, is that he felt no woman will love him with his scars. Moreover, his lover who inflicted the wounds on him, was the only one by his side during his recovery period.

He added that at that time, rumours were flying that she was prepared to end his life if he refused her again, but to Fridaus, that was just mere talks.

Narrating the genesis of his woes on Afrimax TV, Fridaus recounted how his lover, after several years of courting, raised the conversation on when they would tie knot.

He said at that time, he did not give her a befitting response as he was not sure if she was his ultimate choice.

Without giving him any reason for worry, Fridaus said she prepared dinner and after they retired to bed, she launched her deadly attack.

He recounted how he woke up in the middle of the night after perceiving the smell of smoke, only to realize that his entire body was in flames.

His lover had doused him with petrol, so much that the entire bed was soaked, after which she fled the scene.

He managed to escape, but he collapsed and fell into coma immediately the fire was doused.

He spent three years in the hospital and eventually went bankrupt after selling his entire properties for treatment.

While battling for his life, none of his relatives was by his side, except for the same culprit.

With no other option as he had been rendered bedridden, Fridaus said he forgave her and accepted her back. After he was discharged, he went ahead to cohabit with her.

Currently, they are living together with their two children; this has caused neighbours to tag Fridaus a ‘worthless lunatic’.

Though he faced imminent danger with heavy-duty vehicles driving past him, the spiritual man wasn’t perturbed by death for a second. All he did was to focus on his prayer where he was further captured bowing to his Holy Book to fulfil the gesture.

Passersby, who witnessed him, couldn’t fathom why one will decide to test the spiritual waters in such a dangerous manner.

Meanwhile, all attempts to shift his focus proved futile as he looked poised to finish the mission he had chosen to accomplish.

Commenting on the issue, 30-year-old mother, Abena Joyce told the media in an interview that her husband takes advantage of the children in her absence.

Chiefs in the area, on Thursday, poured libation to cleanse the community.

The chief of Kwahu Nsabaa, Nana Osei Twum Barimah in an interview, expressed shock over the matter, adding this is the first of its kind since he became a chief.

He said the punishment will serve as a deterrent to others.

“This is unbelievable, Nananom have poured libation to cleanse the land but it is up to the family to report the matter to the police for the necessary action to be taken. Mahmoud Ragheb, a reporter for the news site Youm7, was livestreaming a report on social media when the thief drove by on a motorbike and seized his phone.

The broadcast then revealed the young thief’s face as he sped away from the scene casually smoking a cigarette.

Police have since announced his arrest.

According to Youm7, the incident happened on a bridge in Egypt’s fourth-largest city, Shubra Al-Khaimah, where Mr Ragheb was reporting on the after-effects of a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that rattled parts of Egypt.

Mr Ragheb was filming the bridge when his phone was grabbed roughly from his hands by the unnamed thief. Once the camera had stopped shaking it revealed the face of a young man smoking a cigarette and checking slightly nervously behind him to see if anyone was in pursuit.

However, there was little sympathy for the intrepid reporter’s plight, with most social media users focussing on the thief’s relaxed demeanour as he snatched the phone and continued to pull on his cigarette as he made his escape.

One user commented that they had “died from laughter,” while another questioned why the man had bothered looking behind him while “the whole world is watching you”.

More than 20,000 people were watching the livestream when the theft took place and according to figures on Facebook, the video has since racked up more than 6.2 million views and 45,000 comments in a little over 24 hours.

Sadly for the thief, broadcasting his face in this way made it relatively easy for authorities to track him down. The Ministry of the Interior announced last night that it has detained him.

In a statement, the ministry said that the man is “jobless” and that he has since sold the stolen mobile to a trader.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Wise Klaus Armin’s lifeless body was found hanging from the door frame of their master bedroom.

According to his wife, Rosemary Wangui, 38, who filed her report at Nyeri’s central police station on October 15, she had visited her ailing mother in nearby Othaya earlier in the day.

But on returning home in Nyeri’s Muhasibu Estate along Gamerock area, she allegedly found her husband breathing fire, accusing her of infidelity.

When police officers from Nyeri arrived at the scene, they broke into the bedroom and found Armin’s lifeless body hanging from a rope.

“Homicide experts from headquarters, with a backup team from Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau and Scene of crime detectives, immediately took up the matter.

“They have since analysed the scene forensically, taken statements from various sources and are waiting for the deceased’s kin to arrive from Germany, for a postmortem on Armin’s body to be conducted in a bid to get to the bottom of the matter,” DCI added.

The incident occurred on 26 Journal Square in Jersey City on Wednesday morning. Onlookers said they heard a loud sound, seemingly like an explosion, when the unidentified man crashed onto the roof of the BMW 330i and screamed loudly.

The man had jumped from an open window on the ninth floor and was later taken to a hospital where he was in a critical condition on Thursday, said Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, according to a New York Post report.

It remains unclear what the man was doing inside the building. He did not identify himself or cooperate with police as of Thursday, said the report.

One of the onlookers, Christina Smith, posted photographs and graphic footage of the injured man on her social media. Ms Smith was quoted by the Post as saying that she “didn’t think it [the crash] was a person at first.”

“The back window of the car just busted out – exploded. Then the guy jumped up and started screaming. His arm was all twisted,” Ms Smith said.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I was shocked. It was like being in a movie.”

Ms Smith also said the man appeared disoriented and asked “what happened” after managing to climb out of the debris.

Other onlookers attempted to help him and asked him to stay on the ground, but the man reportedly insisted on being left alone.

“Leave me alone. I want to die,” the man said, according to Mark Bordeaux, one of the eyewitnesses who worked at the building.

Ms Wallace-Scalcione said police had shut the area around the high rise briefly on Wednesday. Investigations were underway and no suspicious circumstances appear to be involved, she added.

Information gathered by Adom News‘ Kwasi Azor indicated that the wife of the deceased, Akosua Oburaa, divorced him after losing his job.

The deceased’s brother-in-law, Stephen Kwaku Ofori, popularly called Agya Ofori, stated the man seriously took ill about three days ago but was being closely monitored by him.

He explained the night before his death, they had a hearty chat before going to bed but at about 12 midnight, he woke up to his absence when he wanted to urinate.

“We searched everywhere for him and placed the necessary calls but to no avail only for some children to come and tell us the next day they have found a man hanging in a building.

“We rushed to the scene and we found him dead,” he narrated.

The first son of the deceased, Raphael Kumi, speaking to the media, stated the death was a big blow to the family.

The distraught son said they were yet to come to terms with the demise as they cannot fathom what might have caused it.

However, he stated he suspects his father was worried about something and was overthinking or probably something spiritual.

In an interview with Adom News, the Assemblymember of the area, Cephas Arthur, said the body had decomposed at the time of discovery.

Though it is unclear how long Mr Essel laid in the room, Mr Arthur believed he was there for almost three days due to the stench that filled the atmosphere.

He explained the deceased is a known drunkard, hence he is suspected to have drunk alcohol without taking in food, leading to his death.

The deceased is said to have not been seen for four days but the residents thought he might have travelled or visited his friends outside the town.

However, a bad odour began to emanate from his room and they alerted the assemblyman, who broke the door on Tuesday evening to find the lifeless body.

The deceased has since been buried while police have begun investigations into the matter.

Meanwhile, the Mfantsiman Municipality Environmental Health Officer confirmed the deceased was known for having a penchant for excessive intake of alcohol.

He disclosed that the deceased was admitted to the Mankessim Catholic Hospital some time back for taking in excessive alcohol which nearly caused his death.

The body of the deceased was found drowned in stagnant water inundated with plastic waste in the gutter on Sunday morning.

The cause of death is, however, unknown.

The Odumase Krobo Police Command has retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue pending autopsy and investigation.

The 24-year-old was working on the site in Ghaziabad, New Delhi, India, on July 31 when he stopped and looked up. Then a metal rod came hurtling down from the 20th floor towards him, plunging through his brain and out the back of his skull.

The unnamed man was rushed to Flores Hospital where half his skull had to be opened so the doctor could free the rod from his brain during four hours of surgery by senior neurosurgeon, Dr Abhinav Gupta.

Thankfully, there has been no additional damage to his brain but the left side of his body has been left paralysed.

Dr Gupta removed parts of the 24-year-old’s skull and placed them under the sub-cutaneous pouch of his abdomen – a practice used to keep the skull fragment viable while allowing the brain to swell and easing blood flow to the organ.

The neurosurgeon said the construction worker, from Jharkhand, would need further surgery in two months’ time to put the skull fragment back in place.

“We are monitoring the patient closely and the outcome looks positive”, Dr Gupta told the Times of India.

They said the 24-year-old was now breathing unaided and was able to open his eyes – but added they were not sure how much he understood.

“He has a long way to go before he recovers from the injury fully”, Dr Gupta said, adding the patient would need physiotherapy and rehab in the future.

The video, which has since sparked reactions, has the young man cooking while the taxi driver drives off unperturbed.

It is unclear if they were shooting a skit because the gesture looked dangerous for one to ever attempt.

They will be tried on Thursday with his girlfriend for “exam fraud”, their lawyer said Tuesday.

The student, whose age was not disclosed, had moved to Diourbel to take the exam for his girlfriend, a student in a high school in this city, according to the prosecution.

Photos posted on social networks depicted him wearing a red dress with black patterns, wearing a veil with the same colours and a black shawl, to deceive the invigilators.

He was surprised on Saturday, the third day of the exam, during the English test, by the supervisors, who according to the press, noticed that something was wrong with his attire.

They then reported him to the police who arrested him and his girlfriend who was waiting for him in a hostel in the city, according to the same source.

The lifeless body was discovered by residents in the early hours of Friday, June 25, 2021.

The deceased who is yet to be identified was found in a supine position with only a T-shirt on.

Some residents who spoke to Adom News said the deceased was not known in the area.

According to them, they can’t tell if the deceased was killed dumped in the river or committed suicide.

They lamented the frequent killing and robbery cases in the area as they appealed for heightened security in the area.

Meanwhile, the Awutu Senya East Municipal NaDMO Director, Kwame Amoah has visited the scene to convey the body at the hospital.

Narrating what happened, Abubakar Mohammed, a tenant of the couple, said at midnight on Monday, suspect Adoba and Maame Atta and the fetish priestess dug a grave and buried the two-year-old alive.

Cleveland Police are investigating after the alleged attack at around 7.30pm on Thursday on the walkway known as the black path which runs from Tees Barrage to Newport bridge in Middlesbrough.

Police have said the male victim told them he was walking along the path near to Maze Park Nature Reserve when he was approached by a male, pushed to the ground and raped.

The suspect is described as black, aged in his late thirties, around 5ft 10′ tall, of stocky build with short, black hair and a prominent gap between his front upper teeth. 

He was clean shaven and spoke English but was not fluent. He was also wearing dark clothing.

Officers believe that two women may have been in the area around Newport Bridge and seen a distressed male.

Police are asking the women to come forward and contact them, as they say they may have information which could assist the investigation. The two women are described as being aged in their thirties and one with blonde, curly hair.

Detective Sergeant Iain Pearson said: ‘We are investigating a report of rape which happened around 7:30pm on the black path running from Tees Barrage to Newport Bridge, near to Maze Park Nature Reserve.

All reports of rape are taken extremely seriously. Specially trained officers are supporting the victim and we are following up a number of lines of inquiry.

‘Neighbourhood officers will have a high-visibility presence in the area for reassurance and anyone with concerns can approach those officers and speak with them.

‘I would appeal to two women who may have been in the area around Newport Bridge at approximately 7:30pm last night, who may have seen a distressed male, as they may be able to assist our investigation.’

A spokesperson for the force added: ‘Any witnesses or anyone who may have information regarding the incident or the person responsible is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 068313.

Acquaye, 31, said to be an occult threw his son into the sea at Akuma Village near Bank of Ghana in Accra.

The brief facts of the case as presented to the court by Inspector Apewe Achama, said the complainant in the matter is Abigail Nyumor, the girlfriend of the accused and the mother of the child.

Inspector Achama said, both the complainant and accused are food vendors and live at Akuma village near the Bank of Ghana.

The Prosecutor said they lived together with the child now deceased who is their only child.

According to the Prosecutor, for about two months now, the accused has been telling the complainant that if something happened to their child, she should not worry, because they will be rich but the complainant who thought he was joking has been telling him to stop that jokes.

Inspector Achama said, on April 20, about 12noon, the complainant, accused and the child were at home when the child requested money to buy groundnut.

The Prosecutor said, the complainant gave GHc5 to the child and he left after which the complainant dozed off.

Inspector Achama said, the complainant was later awoken by neighbours and was told that the child had been thrown into the sea by the accused.

The Prosecutor said the accused was arrested and handed over to the Police while the victim was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where he was admitted for treatment.

But, he died on April 21, 2021.

The Prosecutor said preliminary investigations revealed that, the accused was once initiated into occult and it was about time he makes a human sacrifice since the occult forces were tormenting him.

To this end, the Prosecutor said, the accused chose to sacrifice the child by throwing him down the cliff at Akuma Village which is 33 feet above sea level in order to gain his freedom and wealth.

Peter Mlauzi from Chakaipa Village in Zimbabwe hanged himself after discovering that his wife Blessing Manokore was having an affair.

The chief of the town, Chief Gwesela confirmed the development saying the village was still shocked by the incident.

“Mlauzi’s actions shocked the whole village and we’re still trying to come to terms with this unusual incident.

“He was a very hard-working man and he worked tirelessly as a gold panner to provide for his family and his in-laws,” he said.

Chief Gwesela said on the fateful day, Mlauzi discovered that his wife was having an affair with another man from the village.

“Upon hearing the news of his wife’s illicit affair, he felt betrayed and he decided to end his life by hanging himself at his mother-in-law’s homestead,” said Chief Gwesela.

He said Mlauzi had since been buried. Chief Gwesela also said that he was yet to meet the Manokores so that a cleansing ceremony is conducted as the incident could be a bad omen to the village.

“I am meeting with the family next week so that we conduct a cleansing ceremony to help appease Mlauzi’s spirit because if that is not done, we might have problems,” he said.

He appealed to members of the public to always seek intervention from a third party in cases of disputes.

Reports indicate Mr Agyapong was found about 100 meters from his home in the early hours of Friday, April 15, 2021, only in boxer shorts.

Though the cause of death is not immediately known, the deceased was discovered with blood on his head but with no blood at the scene.

His son, Paa Kwabena narrated the news of his father’s demise on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, saying he was still in a state of shock and denial.

The deceased’s friend, Kwaku Badu, who was last seen with him on Thursday night said he received a call about the presence of a dead body but did not know it was his friend.

“I was told someone was lying at the scene so I rushed there but the person’s face was on the ground but the fair complexion caught my attention since my friend is also fair. I turned the body, using torchlight only to find out it was him,” he narrated.

He said Mr Agyapong was a calm person, hence does not think he had issues with anyone for him to be paid back in such a manner.

However, he said his checks with co-tenants revealed the deceased received a phone call around 4 am which caused him to move out of his house only to be found in that state.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the mortuary with efforts underway to track his call log as part of police investigations.

Chief Superintendent Samuel Asiedu Okanta, the Effutu Municipal Police Divisional Commander, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the deceased would be in his late twenties.

He said on Wednesday, April 7, at about 0845 hours, the assemblyman for the area, reported at the station that a young man was lying dead at the seaside.

The Commander said his men were dispatched to the scene and found the body of a tall man, fair in complexion, lying naked in a supine position.

Chief Supt Okanta said inspection was conducted on the body but no marks of violence were found.

Community members at the scene, who were interviewed by the police, said he was not known in the area.

The body has since been deposited at the Effutu Municipal Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and identification.

Chief Supt Okanta called on the public to assist the police in identifying the deceased.

The man shocked police officers when he arrived at the station with the bag and asked the officers to open the bag.

When they did, they found the freshly chopped head.

In a viral video shared on Twitter, the police are seen in a police van, escorting the suspect back to the scene of the crime in Nyalenda Estate to investigate the murder.

According to TV47 Kenya, the body of the grandmother was immediately evacuated from the scene.

The man’s motive has not been revealed but he has been taken into custody.

He had heard that rings could be used to enlarge and strengthen a penis by forcing blood into the glans.

So he pulled a 3cm-wide (1.2 inches) steel nut from his toolbox and slipped it over his member using baby oil.

However the following day his penis had swelled painfully and he found he was unable to remove the ring.

He called emergency services on Saturday afternoon, having had the nut jammed around the base of his penis since Friday morning.

He told rescuers: “I was terrified that I would need my penis amputated.

“It had swollen so much that I thought it would burst.”

Paramedics took him to a hospital in the Thai capital.

Wince-inducing images of the procedure to remove the but were published in local media.

Medics got to work with a terrifying array of tools as the unnamed patient clung to the bed rails in agony.

One slid a thin metal sheet between the nut and his skin to protect it, while another began grinding with a spinning steel cutter.

They also used pliers to grip and bend the nut, until the man was finally released after 60 nerve-racking minutes.

He was given antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory cream to reduce the swelling.

Rescue volunteers said the man cried with pain throughout the hour-long cutting process.

Winai Pong said: “This was one of the strangest cases we have ever encountered.

“Most of the time it’s only people getting their finger stuck in a ring, so it was surprising when we arrived at the man’s house and he had his penis stuck in there.

“We knew that cutting the nut wouldn’t be a problem, as we used the same technique with finger rings, but we were just worried about the pain the man would be experiencing while removing it.”

The man was unable to make the date he had planned with a girlfriend on St Valentines Day.

But doctors said his misadventure had not left any permanent damage and his penis should function normally after a few weeks’ rest.

The impostor was caught while trying to write the recruitment examination for his wife, Oyinade Sade Adegbite at the CBT centre of Ilesha College of Education.

The Information Officer at the Ministry of Education, Roseline Olwawuni, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday February 10, said the suspect was apprehended with the help of operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civic Defence Corps (NSCDC)

“He was caught after his passport photograph was said not to have a matched with the photo records of applicants stored on the database of the Ministry of Education,” she stated.

Reacting to the incident, the State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunsho Oladoyin condemned the act of impersonation, stressing that it is shameful that a prospective teacher could be found committing such crimes.

“It is shameful that somebody who wants to teach students academically and morally could be involved in fraudulent malpractice, what example is such a person going to set for the students, the commissioner queried. This is rather unfortunate,” said Oladoyin. 

“I am using this opportunity to warn our young people to desist from cutting corners, they should know that integrity pays and it’s the only way to success. The suspect has however been handed over to the law enforcement agents for further investigation and prosecution,” he added.

The video has since sparked debate on social media with many asking if the oranges were a perfect match for the bread and egg for the man who is yet to be identified.

The video which was sighted by Adomonline.com on social media had loads of comments from fans.

A 43-year-old Burkina Faso national has been arrested for the murder of his German partner and her 13-year-old daughter.

According to reports, the suspect, Boigouna Aloys, is said to have buried their remains secretly in a nearby bush in their house at Kokrobite in the Greater Accra region.

The reports said both the Burkinabe national and German woman had been living together with the daughter since January 2020.

But residents, who lived close to them, became alarmed when the woman and her daughter mysteriously disappeared.

According to them, a strong stench in the neighborhood raised suspicions about the possible murder of the two by the suspect since they suddenly disappeared.

A complaint was lodged with the Kokrobite Police for further investigation.

Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Afia Tenge, confirmed the unfortunate incident to Adom News.

She said the police had to go for a court order to exhume the bodies which were buried near the house.

The suspect, DSP Afia Tenge, added is in police custody assisting with investigations.

Taking to Facebook to recount the incident, he disclosed his wife was admitted at the facility on Sunday, June 21, 2020, but passed on Thursday, June 25, 2020

He explained that his wife was in severe pain and underwent surgery at the facility but the situation got worse.

He added she fainted and after an hour of unconsciousness there was no doctor to attend to her but a doctor suddenly arrived to examine her.

That was when he noted the doctor allegedly realised his wife was given alleged wrong medication and asked the nurse about the person who administered that to the woman.

Information gathered suggest the incident happened days after a brawl between the deceased, identified as Yaw Owusu, and his uncle which led to the suspect’s injury.

Reporting the incident on News Desk on Joy News, Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor explained the incident occurred on Tuesday while Yaw was sleeping on their compound after work.

“Mr Asamoah, the suspect incessantly hacked Yaw with a metal bar he uses as a welder till part of his face and skull began to fall off with the excuse that his nephew has been pestering him,” Erastus reported.

Assemblyman of the Apinkra electoral area, Frank Dankwa, who hauled the suspect before police, said he denied knowledge of the crime despite the blood stains that were found on him.

“I came to meet the dead body in a pool of blood and when I questioned him, he said he came to meet it on the compound but since he was the only person present, I was convinced he committed the crime which he later admitted,” he said.

The suspect who has since been charged with murder is in police custody and set to be arraigned before court with the corpse at the mortuary.

Investigations have revealed that Sooraj, who worked in a private bank, bought the snake to kill his wife Uthra and also watched snake videos on the internet. His plan was to take away her money and gold and marry someone else, the police said.

Uthra was found dead in her house in Kollam on May 7. When her family learnt that she had been bitten by a snake, they grew suspicious. She had been bitten by a snake earlier in March as well.

They had a one-year-old son.

When the police started digging into the case, they found out that Sooraj, 27, had planned the first attempt in late February.

He arranged a highly venomous viper with the help of his friend Suresh, a snake handler. The snake bit Uthra and she was hospitalised.

She was released after a month’s treatment and she went to her parents’ home.

After the first attempt, Sooraj allegedly bought a cobra from the same friend in April.

On May 6, Sooraj threw the snake at his sleeping wife. He allegedly sat in the bed and watched the snake bite Uthra twice. She was taken to the hospital the next morning, where she was declared dead from snakebite.

Sooraj reportedly tried to bag the snake again but it slithered away. He spent a sleepless night before reporting his wife dead. The snake was later found in the house.

When he tried to secure ownership of his wife’s property days after her death, her parents called the police.

The police say he did it for money. Sooraj received much cash and 100 sovereigns of gold in dowry but wanted to get rid of Uthra and find someone else.
