Mr. Woanyah highlighted the selection of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the NPP Presidential Candidate, calling it a demonstration of the party’s commitment to inclusivity and social equity, principles enshrined in the NPP Constitution.

Speaking at the 12th Annual Conference of Tabitaal Pulaaku in Ho, a gathering of Fulanis residing in Ghana, Mr. Woanyah declared, “After December 7th, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia will be sworn in as President, and Her Excellency Samira Bawumia will be the First Lady of Ghana.”

“NDC General Secretary Fifi Kwetey said no Muslim or Fulani could become President of Ghana, let alone a First Lady,” he recounted, further accusing the NDC of denying Fulanis the right to register as voters and access to the National Health Insurance Scheme and primary healthcare.

“We witnessed the killing of 200 Fulanis under their government. We came to address these issues. Unlike the NDC’s record, our party’s constitution does not permit tribal discrimination,” he added.

Mr. Woanyah urged Fulanis in Ghana to reject the NDC, citing the alleged injustices faced by their community, and to support Dr. Bawumia, whom he described as a tolerant and inclusive leader.

He also noted that by electing Dr. Bawumia, who is connected to the Fulani community through marriage, the Fulanis would have a closer presence in the government.

“On the ballot, look no further than No. 1. On January 7, [2025], your mother, sister, or daughter will become Ghana’s First Lady.”

We’ll increase voting pattern in Volta Region – NPP Chairman http://34.58.148.58/well-increase-voting-pattern-in-volta-region-npp-chairman/ Wed, 20 Mar 2024 21:21:24 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2371278 The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised to increase its electoral fortunes in the Volta Region in the upcoming December 7th general elections.

The Volta Regional NPP Chairman, Makafui Kofi Woanyah said a well-thought strategy has been formulated and would be expediently implemented to help the governing party break the 8.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Volta Regional Campaign team in Ho.

“On this occasion, I want to inform the flagbearer of our party and the national campaign team that team Volta is fully prepared and upbeat about our prospects in 2024.

“And as usual, Volta will contribute its quota to our national efforts to break the 8 come December 7th this year”, he said.

He further indicated that “my only concern is the timely delivery and proper channelling of campaign logistics, and we shall deliver our side of the bargain”, he added.

The NPP National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye lauded the Volta Region hierarchy for making significant inroads in the 2020 general elections in the region identified as the stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

The governing party witnessed a 3.3% increase in presidential votes, garnering 101,084 votes and winning the Hohoe parliamentary seat.

Mr Boakye entreated the campaign team not to relent in their efforts to contribute to breaking the 8 to help the NPP retain power.

“We expect that the energy in the region, the cohesion in the region, the unity in the region, the hard work in the region would continue so that we even see a much more appreciation of our votes, and also build on what we have done to even get more seats in the Volta Region.

This is the region where the NDC is bagging its hopes in terms of their votes. So, it is important that we also work very hard to get more votes to suppress their votes”, he said.

The Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa entreated NPP fateful to prioritize the interest of the party heading into the elections.

He called for unity among the rank and file of the party to form a synergy to defeat the NDC in the December 7 general elections.

He pledged the support of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council and the 18 Municipal and District Assemblies to contribute effectively to the campaign machinery in the region.

“From now till the 7th of December, it is not about you or me, it is not, we don’t matter anymore. What matters is Dr. Bawuia becoming President. So let us come together in unity and work together so that we fulfill the agenda of our President.

Our President wants to hand over, it is his greatest desire that on 7th January 2025, he will hand over the authority of state to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumiah” he stressed.

NDC hoping to leverage negativity to win power – Volta Regional NPP Chairman http://34.58.148.58/ndc-hoping-to-leverage-negativity-to-win-power-volta-regional-npp-chairman/ Mon, 29 Jan 2024 11:20:27 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2348569 The Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Makafui Woanyah says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is hoping Ghana faces difficulty under the Akufo-Addo government.

He said they aimed to focus their campaigns on negativity and leverage to win the December 2024 general elections and come to power.

He was speaking at the acclamation ceremony of John Peter Amewu to represent the NPP in the parliamentary elections in the Hohoe in the Volta Region.

“The NDC want to leverage whatever bad thing will happen in the country to come to power. I can assure you that nothing bad will happen. Today the economy of this country is progressing gradually, and I can assure you that everything will turn in our favor.

NDC is preaching negativity, they are not telling us what they want to come and do in this country, has John Mahama not led this country? So what is looking for? What is he saying?”, he questioned.

Mr. Woanyah stressed that the NPP led by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would win the 2024 elections and break the 8 power jinx in the fourth republic.

He described unfortunate attempts by the NDC and its Presidential Candidate to ridicule the Free SHS policy and downplay the performance of its beneficiaries in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

“They [NDC] would have been shouting on top of the roof if the Free SHS policy were to be implemented by them, but because it was masterminded by the NPP, they are saying things to confuse you.

The free SHS produced a very good result and we are all happy about it except for the NDC presidential candidate, who said the WASSCE candidates cheated during the examination and did not deserve their grades, which is very unfortunate”, he said.

Mr. Woanyah urged the electorates in the Hohoe Constituency to keep their faith with the NPP and vote massively for John Peter Amewu and Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Bahamudu Bawumia to continue his digitization agenda and lead the country to par with its compatriots in the developed world.
