Speaking at his inaugural Royal Durbar held at Akyem Kwabeng in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region, the chief called for an amendment to Section 63(D) of the Chieftaincy Act to empower traditional authorities to summon individuals involved in environmental degradation.

According to Daasebre Ayimadu Kantamanto II, restoring these powers would strengthen the capacity of traditional leaders to maintain law and order while addressing the increasing incidence of environmental challenges within their communities.

He stressed that traditional authority remains a vital tool for promoting discipline and advancing sustainable development, particularly in areas affected by environmental crimes.

Meanwhile, Osabarima Dr. Owusu Beyeeman, Chief of Akyem Muoso and representative of the Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, urged residents of Akyem Kwabeng to embrace unity and work collectively toward the development of the area.

He called for peace and cooperation among the people, encouraging them to set aside their differences and celebrate their shared identity—a message that resonated strongly with attendees at the durbar.
