The ban follows an incident after Hearts’ 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 9, during which Mohammed was found to have attacked match officials.

His conduct violated Articles 12(1)(k) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, which prohibit threatening or attempting to assault referees.

In its ruling on Monday, December 15, the Committee confirmed that Mohammed’s actions constituted unsporting behaviour, resulting in the three-game suspension.

As a result, Mohammed will miss Hearts of Oak’s upcoming matches against Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park, FC Samartex, and Medeama SC at the TNA Park.

He is expected to return to the squad for the clash with Hohoe United.

Hearts of Oak, Hussein Mohammed charged by GFA over violence after defeat to Asante Kotoko http://34.58.148.58/hearts-of-oak-hussein-mohammed-charged-by-gfa-over-violence-after-defeat-to-asante-kotoko/ Mon, 10 Nov 2025 08:49:55 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2598062 The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has formally charged Hearts of Oak and defender Hussein Mohammed following incidents during Sunday’s Super Clash against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak face allegations of failing to control their supporters after several players and fans confronted match officials over key decisions, including a first-half penalty awarded to Kotoko and a late offside ruling that denied Mawuli Wayo a potential equaliser.

Video footage reportedly shows fans throwing objects onto the pitch, prompting intervention from security personnel.

The club’s actions are said to contravene Articles 16(2)(b) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, as well as the 2025 Premier League Regulations.

Separately, defender Hussein Mohammed has been charged with misconduct following an altercation with referee Reginald Collins Amoah. The incident occurred after the final whistle as the referee and his assistants were leaving the field. Reports indicate that Mohammed approached the referee in anger but was promptly restrained by police.

The GFA considers his conduct a serious breach of Articles 12(1)(k) and 34(6)(d) of the Disciplinary Code, which prohibits threatening or attempting to assault match officials.

Both Hearts of Oak and Hussein Mohammed have been given until Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to submit their responses to the charges.
