In a Facebook post, he advised anyone who has a problem with a media house to either call them out, file a complaint at the National Media Commission (NMC) or sue them.

In another post, Gabby said a political party is obliged to call out any media house “loudly but decently” if it “attacks without giving that party a right to reply”.

Meanwhile, the 16 people arrested for barging into UTV’s studios to seek an apology from pundits for their “constant attack on government” have been granted bail.

NPP National Youth Organizer, Salam Mustapha has taken responsibility for the attack.

The leadership of the NPP has apologized to the management of UTV over the incident and pledged to cooperate with the police throughout the investigation.

Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko said President Akufo-Addo and Cabinet have thoroughly dissected every aspect of what he described as the most ambitious health infrastructure programme ever to be rolled out since Independence and moves were being made to find funding for it.

President Akufo-Addo during his 8th address to the nation on measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country announced plans for the construction of the hospitals.

Shortly after that address, however, the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, Ato Forson, questioned the plan and wondered how government was going to fund the project, especially because the “2020 budget and the appropriation Act allocated only GH¢44 million for health infrastructure.”

But Mr Otchere-Darko in a Facebook post said “…Well, there wasn’t Covid-19 when the budget was made. There wasn’t any 50% subsidy for electricity and 100% free water in the budget but that and many more are happening.”

Mr Otchere-Darko, taking to his twitter page described such arguments as strange, citing the Parliament as example of an institution where individuals from different political parties come together to work with no issues of conflict.

It is unclear whose statement the lawyer was replying to.
