Pacquiao, 47, and Mayweather, 48, will fight at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Saturday, 19 September, with the bout live on Netflix.

Former world champion Mayweather announced he would come out of retirement for a fourth time last week.

It will be the Americans’ first professional bout since beating mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor with a 10th-round technical knockout in 2017.

Filipino Pacquiao retired from the sport to focus on his political career in 2021 but returned to the ring last July to fight WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, who retained his title after a draw.

Mayweather and Pacquiao first met in 2015, in what was billed as the ‘Fight of the Century’ and remains the richest in boxing history.

It was Mayweather who emerged victorious, beating Pacquiao via a wide unanimous decision in Las Vegas.

It is not yet known over how many rounds or at what weight class the rematch will be contested.

Pacquiao, winner of 12 world titles across eight weight classes, said: “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history.

“The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch.

“I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”

Mayweather, who turns 49 on Tuesday, said: “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”

Mayweather has won all 50 of his professional fights, with 27 coming by knockout.

He has had a string of exhibition bouts since retiring in 2017 and is scheduled to face Mike Tyson this year.

That is set to be former undisputed world heavyweight champion Tyson’s first fight since the American ended his 19-year retirement in November in a controversial defeat by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

Announcing the end of his retirement on Saturday, Mayweather said: “From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards: no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event than my events.”

Pacquiao, who has 62 wins from his 73 bouts, said in October that the pair were close to agreeing a rematch – but added it was dependent on he and Mayweather being able to “understand each other”.

Their previous meeting in 2015 generated a record 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and a record live gate of $72m at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Full details regarding the undercard and ticket availability will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mike Tyson claims Floyd Mayweather fight will take place in Africa in March http://34.58.148.58/mike-tyson-claims-floyd-mayweather-fight-will-take-place-in-africa-in-march/ Wed, 10 Dec 2025 10:32:39 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2608887 Mike Tyson has claimed his planned exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather will take place in Africa in March.

In September, it was announced that Tyson and Mayweather would fight in spring 2026, though no location or date was announced.

And while those details are still not official, Tyson addressed the matter while speaking at a live event last week, An Experience With Mike Tyson.

“Floyd Mayweather, can you believe that?” said the former world heavyweight champion, 59. “It’s gonna be in March, and it’s gonna be in Africa.

“This is gonna be incredible, it’s gonna break all the records. It’s gonna be one of the biggest events of this year’s sport.”

Mayweather last fought in November 2024, facing YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in an eight-round professional contest and losing on points. That bout marked Tyson’s first outing since an exhibition against fellow boxing icon Roy Jones Jr in 2020, and it was his pro fight since 2005.

Meanwhile, Mayweather retired in 2017 with a perfect record of 50-0, after stopping former UFC champion Conor McGregor in the latter’s boxing debut. Since then, however, the 48-year-old has competed in numerous exhibition fights.

While Mayweather vs Tyson was announced as an exhibition fight, no date, location or rules were revealed, and it even seemed that a rematch between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao could thwart the all-American bout.

“Right now, it’s in negotiations,” Pacquiao said in October, discussing a rematch with Mayweather, who outpointed the Filipino in 2015 in the highest-grossing boxing match ever.

“It depends on whether we can understand each other,” continued Pacquiao, 46. “My people and his people [are] directly coordinating.

“I’m sure the world of boxing will be excited if the rematch will happen soon. He has his own decision, so I cannot prevent him from fighting Mike Tyson.

“[We are] almost agreeing with each other, but there are a few details we are still negotiating. Probably it will happen in Las Vegas.

“There’s also a negotiation with [former world champion Vasyl] Lomachenko for an exhibition. But the Mayweather thing that we are negotiating right now is a real fight.”

Pacquiao returned to professional boxing this summer, challenging Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. Pacquiao fought the 30-year-old to a draw.

Manny Pacquiao hints at possible Floyd Mayweather rematch http://34.58.148.58/manny-pacquiao-hints-at-possible-floyd-mayweather-rematch/ Fri, 31 Oct 2025 06:11:16 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2594504 Manny Pacquiao has hinted that a rematch of his 2015 blockbuster with Floyd Mayweather Jr. could be in the cards next year.

“Right now we have a lot of negotiations about my next fight; there’s a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather,” Pacquiao told a news conference on Wednesday.

“There’s a lot of ongoing negotiations right now, so it’s hard to plan what fight I’m going to post. I’m waiting for the final negotiation.”

A world champion in eight divisions from flyweight to super welterweight, Pacquiao was enshrined in the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June. A month later, he emerged from retirement and fell just short of regaining a title at the age of 46, with Mario Barrios retaining the WBC welterweight championship after a majority draw.

Pacquiao initially retired in 2021 with a record of 62-8-2 with 39 KOs, fighting in some of the biggest blockbusters of the 2000s. He said he always sought the toughest opponents so he could continue testing himself.

He served as a senator in the Philippines from 2016 to 2022 and lost a bid to become the country’s president in 2022.

Pacquiao lost to Mayweather in 2015 in a bout that had been billed as the “fight of century,” but he later disclosed that he had been hampered by a shoulder injury.

“I’d love to have another fight, a rematch with Floyd Mayweather,” Pacquiao said. “So I hope that in the negotiations, we can understand each other and we can negotiate well.”

Mayweather, 48, could be in for a busy 2026.

CSI Sports last month announced an exhibition between the unbeaten Mayweather and Mike Tyson next year. No date or site was provided in the announcement.

In the meantime, Pacquiao will be focusing on the next generation.

His son, Jimuel, 24, will make his pro debut against American Brendan Lally on Nov. 29 in California.

“I’m excited, but I’m worried about my son,” Manny Pacquiao said. “He started late … but that is his passion, so I will support him. I’m praying for him for a safe fight.”

Tyson and Mayweather to fight in exhibition match http://34.58.148.58/tyson-and-mayweather-to-fight-in-exhibition-match/ Sat, 06 Sep 2025 08:29:48 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2575580 Former world champions Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather are set to compete in an exhibition bout next year.

The event will be put on by CSI Sports/Fight Sports but details regarding the date, location, broadcasters and rules are yet to be announced.

Tyson, 59, is a former undisputed heavyweight champion while Mayweather, 48, retired undefeated after 50 fights, winning multiple titles across a number of weight classes.

“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets,” said Tyson.

Tyson is competing for the first time since ending his 19-year retirement in November in a controversial defeat by Jake Paul.

He spent the entirety of his career, which yielded 50 wins from 59 fights, at heavyweight while the latter stages of Mayweather’s career were at welterweight.

Mayweather, who has won titles across five weight classes, has competed in a number of exhibition bouts since retiring in 2017 with his last outing coming against John Gotti III last August.

Formal winners are not usually declared in exhibitions and the results do not count towards either fighter’s career record.

“You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary,” said Mayweather.

“I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

He noted that the rate of divorce is scary and he does not want to add to the increasing numbers.

The duel, agreed to three rounds, did not need to go that far and in the end, Mayweather punished the irreverence of his rival and knocked him out at the end of the second round in a good level fight that could continue

In the second round, Azakura tried to tighten the fight, began to punish Mayweather, who resented the punishment and ended up smiling and backing away, after receiving at least three powerful combinations from his opponent.

However, the former world champion punished his opponent’s boldness and with a powerful right hand to the body, sent him to the canvas near the bell of the second round.

The referee did not allow the fight to continue. Mayweather, per reports, bagged $20 million from the exhibition fight.

At the end, ‘Money’ thanked the presence of Manny Pacquiao in the arena and the respect and affection of the Japanese public, for having paid a lot of money to see him in action and to increase his fortune.

Mayweather said Amaechi is always concerned about empowering the youths, hence his support is needed to actualise his goal of setting up the boxing academy.

In response, Amaechi told the boxing great that he believes the federal government will support any initiative to harness more talents in the country and create jobs.

The 45-year-old boxing promoter is in Nigeria to promote his exhibition match against Don Moore billed for Dubai on May 14.

Mayweather said he had wanted to visit Nigeria for a while but “things did not go as expected”.

He added that he would return to the country in the future “to train and continue to build my legacy”.

“Before I go to Dubai, I couldn’t choose a better place than Nigeria. I look forward to coming back to Nigeria to train and continue to build my legacy, and we also want to help build a boxing camp for the young youth and children coming up. With the help of Keane [Anis], one of my closest buddies, who is from Nigeria,” he said.

I’m proud of them – Mayweather on daughter having baby with NBA YoungBoy http://34.58.148.58/im-proud-of-them-mayweather-on-daughter-having-baby-with-nba-youngboy/ Wed, 16 Feb 2022 22:25:02 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2081042 Floyd Mayweather has shared his thoughts on his daughter Yaya having a child with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, saying in a newly released interview that he’s “proud” of them both.

Speaking with the Pivot podcast team on Tuesday, Mayweather (around 27 minutes into the video) was asked about the child, prompting the boxing star to give a multi-part answer.

“I’m proud of my daughter even though she’s a little young to have a baby,” Mayweather said. “She’s 21 and she’ll be 22 this year but I’m proud of her. I’m proud of NBA YoungBoy. Very, very talented young kid. One of the biggest artists, as far as in music. He got a cult-like following. … I look at him just like one of my sons. I only want the best for him and I don’t want him having beef with anyone.”

Mayweather then said that “so many young rappers are dying young,” reiterating that he’s proud of YoungBoy and his daughter. Later, Mayweather said he’s going to “continue to push” YoungBoy to achieve what he described as greatness.

“I’m gonna continue to push him and push her, both of them, to be great,” he said, adding that he loves his grandson, who’s “just like his mom.”

The interview also saw Mayweather address Logan Paul’s recent claim of owed money, as well as offer an apology to autograph-seeking fans. “I love my fans because without my fans and my fans pushing me and supporting me and buying pay-per-view, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today,” Mayweather said around 25 minutes in. “So I apologize to any and everybody that I didn’t sign an autograph for or I didn’t take a picture [with].”

In January 2021, Yaya and YoungBoy were reported to have welcomed a baby boy, their first child together. The previous October, Mayweather himself had confirmed that Yaya was expecting a child with YoungBoy, telling Hollywood Unlocked at the time that he was “happy” for his daughter.

“But what I try not to do is get in her personal business,” he added.

Kim Kardashian, Floyd Mayweather sued over promotion of crypto token http://34.58.148.58/kim-kardashian-floyd-mayweather-sued-over-promotion-of-crypto-token/ Mon, 17 Jan 2022 16:36:04 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2068005 Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. are facing a lawsuit alleging the celebrities misled investors in their promotion of a cryptocurrency token.

The lawsuit, filed January 7 in Los Angeles federal court, claims the celebrities touted tokens sold by EthereumMax, or EMAX, in order to boost its price and make themselves a profit “at the expense of their followers and investors.”

“The company’s executives, collaborating with several celebrity promoters … made false or misleading statements about EthereumMax through social media advertisements and other promotional activities,” the lawsuit stated.

According to the lawsuit, Kardashian promoted EthereumMax in a June 2021 post on Instagram, when she had 250 million followers.

“Are you guys into crypto?” she wrote in the post, followed by the disclaimer “this is not financial advice”, but that she wanted to share “what my friends just told me” about the EthereumMax tokens. She included the #AD hashtag to show the post was a paid advertisement, the lawsuit said.

MORE:

Mayweather promoted EthereumMax on his boxing trunks during a widely viewed fight with YouTube star Logan Paul in June, among other times.

Representatives for Kardashian and Mayweather did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

EthereumMax, the company, was also named in the lawsuit.

“The deceptive narrative associated with the recent allegations is riddled with misinformation about the EthereumMax project,” EthereumMax said in a statement. “We dispute the allegations and look forward to the truth coming out.”

The lawsuit, filed by a New York resident who bought EMAX tokens and lost money, is proposed as a class-action suit for anyone who bought EMAX tokens from mid-May to late June 2021.

The case seeks restitution and disgorgement of profits by the defendants.

Roger Mayweather, uncle and trainer of Floyd Mayweather, dies at 58 http://34.58.148.58/roger-mayweather-uncle-and-trainer-of-floyd-mayweather-dies-at-58/ Wed, 18 Mar 2020 13:38:12 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1766323 Floyd Mayweather says he is mourning the loss of “one of the most important people in my life” after the death of his uncle and former trainer Roger.

Roger Mayweather died on Tuesday, aged 58, following years of ill health.

After being a world champion himself, he helped train his nephew to become one of the greatest boxers in history over an unbeaten 50-fight career.

“Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing,” said Floyd Mayweather, 43.

“My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring,” added Mayweather, who was already grieving after the mother of his three children died on March 11.

Mayweather knocks out McGregor to win superfight http://34.58.148.58/mayweather-knocks-mcgregor-win-superfight/ Sun, 27 Aug 2017 08:53:55 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=435091 Floyd Mayweather extended his perfect career record to 50 fights unbeaten by stopping Conor McGregor in the 10th round of one of the richest bouts in boxing history.

The former five-weight world champion faced flurries of early punches from UFC’s most iconic figure, who was making his debut in professional boxing at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
McGregor delivered a crisp uppercut in round one and, though he edged close to breaking the rules with several punches to the back of the head, he imposed himself admirably without ever looking as though he would knock out Mayweather.
The American, who came out of retirement for a potential $300m (£230m) pay day, executed a gameplan which pounced on McGregor’s lack of conditioning for the late rounds which prove so key on big fight nights.
As the Irishman tired, Mayweather upped his ferocity and by round nine the 40-year-old began to stalk his opponent, whose legs were weakening under more successful shots.
And in the 10th, with McGregor again near the ropes and offering little, the fight – which followed weeks of manic build-up, spiteful words and chaos – was over. He was not bowled over by a conclusive blow, but with Mayweather throwing rapidly, his target was left too vulnerable.
Referee Robert Byrd’s stoppage may have arrived too early for some, as McGregor’s early effort led to a belief inside the arena he could pull off the biggest upset in the history of the sport.
But the 29-year-old was wilting and was down 89-81 89-82 87-83 on the ringside cards when the stoppage came.
His effort and display should be commended, but Mayweather’s poise and invincibility remain constant into retirement.
Mayweather said: “He was a lot better than I thought. But I was the better man. I guaranteed everybody this would not go the distance. Boxing’s reputation was on the line.”
McGregor, who said he would return to the UFC but would not rule out boxing again, said: “I thought it was close and I thought it was a bit of an early stoppage. I was just a little fatigued.”
