His appeal follows Ghana’s qualification for the global showpiece after a hard-fought 1–0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

According to Kyere-Duah, allocating about five slots to players from the domestic league would not only serve as motivation but also boost the financial health of local clubs.

“There is a possibility that some players will be at the tournament but will not kick football,” he told JoySports.

“Maybe 21 [players] based strictly on selection criteria then we deliberately look at maybe four, five local players who have clearly distinguished themselves.

“Our local clubs need the revenue. We need that money to develop football in general,” he added.

The official draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled for December 5, 2025, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Whoever wins NPP flagbearership will suffer defeat in 2028 – Berekum West MP http://34.58.148.58/whoever-wins-npp-flagbearership-will-suffer-defeat-in-2028-berekum-west-mp/ Mon, 13 Oct 2025 09:58:56 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2587693 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere-Duah, has said the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will suffer another defeat in the 2028 general elections, no matter who wins the party’s upcoming presidential primary.

Speaking on the JoyNews AM Show, Mr Kyere-Duah said the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) is poised to retain power, and they are not perturbed by who wins the NPP primary.

“For me, all five candidates on the ballot paper for NPP, we in the NDC are not so much interested in who wins, because whoever wins is definitely going to taste a very bitter defeat in 2028,” he claimed.

“It doesn’t matter whether it is Kennedy Agyapong, Bawumia, or whoever,” he added.

The NPP is scheduled to hold its flagbearer election on January 31 2026, with five candidates contesting.

The five are former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, Bryan Acheampong, and the former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.

Berekum West MP pledges to drive development http://34.58.148.58/berekum-west-mp-pledges-to-drive-development/ Mon, 17 Feb 2025 07:20:17 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2505163

After barely three months in office, Berekum West Member of Parliament (MP) Dickson Kyere Duah, popularly known as ‘Stutgard,’ has engaged key stakeholders in the constituency to address pressing issues.

The session provided an opportunity for the MP to answer questions, receive suggestions, and gain credible insights into the challenges facing the area.

Several challenges were highlighted during the engagement, requiring urgent attention. These included the abandoned Berekum-Sampa trunk road, employment opportunities for the youth, educational facilities, health infrastructure, and agricultural concerns.

The MP reiterated his commitment to follow up and ensure the completion of the road project, and he assured the community that he would lobby for more job opportunities for the area’s unemployed youth.

Mr. Duah also revealed that he had made contact with several ministries to ensure the constituency receives its fair share of development.

Former Odododiodio MP Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, who was also present, assured the constituency that roads, especially those leading to farms, would be maintained with DRIP machines to enhance food security.

He also reaffirmed the government’s plans to establish a cashew processing factory in the Bono and Bono East regions to add value to locally produced cashew and provide employment opportunities for the youth in these areas.

Mr. Duah commended the media for playing a significant role in ensuring a peaceful election during the December polls.

He won the Berekum West seat for the first time for the NDC in the 2024 election, defeating the long-serving Kwaku Agyenim Boateng.
