The Wonder Club are struggling in the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

The poor run of results led to the sacking of Yaw Preko and he has been replaced by Bismark Kobi-Mensah.

Olympics have recorded two wins, two draws and two losses since he took over.

After 26 games played, the two-time Premier League champions sit 17th on the league log with 31 points.

However, with eight games to end the season, Nettey beleives the side will keep its status in the Premier League.

“We are moving to the WAFA Park and I believe it is in the best interest of the club,” he told Asempa FM.

“There are few matches to the end of the season but I am convinced that Great Olympics will survive relegation,” he added.

Great Olympics will host Tamale City in the matchday 27 games at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Sunday.

Nettey mutually parted ways with Asante Kotoko in December following the expiration of his contract.

He was a key figure for the Porcupine Warriors when they annexed the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.

The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Hearts of Oak.

Nettey featured for the two-time Ghana Premier League champions during the 2017/18 season on a season-long loan deal from Attram De Visser before joining Kotoko on a three-year deal.

He made 62 appearances in all competitions for Asante Kotoko across the three years he spent at the club, scoring once in the process.

Nettey played 18 matches last season to help the Porcupines win the Ghana Premier League title for the first time in eight years.

Nettey in November 2020 earned a maiden call up to the Black Stars for a double-header during the 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan.

The 24-year-old has been a key figure for the side following his move from Attram de Visser Academy in 2019.

However, the promising defender will end his stay after refusing to accept a seven months contract offer from the club.

In an appreciation message, the full-back wished the club the best of luck in the future while stressing that he will forever be grateful to the club.

“I thank you Asante Kotoko family so much for giving me the opportunity to serve you. I will forever be grateful and cherish every moment I worked here. I wish you success and the best of luck in your future endeavours,” Christopher Nettey said in a post on Twitter on Tuesday.

The enterprising lateral contributed immensely in helping the club achieve their 24th league triumph last season under Prosper Narteh Ogum as head coach.

Following his impressive performance, Nettey earned a call-up to the Black Stars for the 2021 AFCON qualifier against Sudan where he made his senior debut.
