Reports indicate the suspect committed the act when the drivers parked their tankers to rest at a filling station at Bole.

The court, presided over by His Worship Edward Essel, has also fined the suspect GH 8,200.00 or in default he shall serve 18 months imprisonment with hard labour.

According to the prosecutor who also doubles as the Bole District Crime Officer, ASP Wisdom Pavis Agbeklah, one of the filling stations, Amdaway with the help of some drivers arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police.

The suspect

He said for the past five months, drivers who come to rest at the filling station complained of their missing gallons of water and fuel in the tanks of their vehicles.

DSP Agbeklah added that a CCTV camera captured a young man with six cans of petrol as some drivers and workers laid ambush to arrest the person behind the stealing of the fuel.


The suspect was arrested with a motorbike, an android phone and some keys.


According to the prosecutor, he was charged for stealing and causing financial loss to the fuel company.


He gave out two accomplices he always sells the stolen fuel to and they were arrested from their hideouts.

They both pleaded guilty to the offences and were charged for conspiracy.

The suspects are expected to reappear on August 31, 2022.

The sentence follows the duo, Mumin Baharu and Osman Ibrahim,’s killing of a buffalo in the Mole National Park.

The two have been charged with unlawful entry, causing damage, killing of wildlife animals and licences to poach in the reserve.

They both pleaded guilty when they appeared before the court on Friday, April 29, 2022.

The Law Enforcement Officer of the Mole National Park, Atakirya Kojo Adiita following the sentence has urged poachers to desist from entering the wildlife reserve.

The Poachers from the Larabanga Community of the West Gonja Municipality were arrested by galant and hardworking Rangers of the Mole National Park on 9th April 2022.

The Rangers who were on a normal patrol in the park heard a gunshot from the Poachers and rushed to the scene.

On their way, the Rangers saw a four-man team of Poachers on a particular stream who had shot and killed a Buffalo and were about to share the booty.

The Bole District Magistrate Court, presided over by His Worship Andrew Prince Cudjoe, has sentenced two friends, Malik Sule, 18, and 16-year-old Abdulai Bakari.

The two were sentenced to 48 and 12 months imprisonment respectively after they pleaded guilty to the offense.

The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Abdullai Awuni, said master Sule, who is a tricycle rider and his friend, a butcher, unlawfully entered one Seidu Adam’s room and stole some appliances.

One tabletop fridge valued at GH¢ 850.00, two mobile phones valued at 840.00, flat-screen TV value at GH¢900.00 and woofer systems value at GH¢550.00 were retrieved from them.

Inspector Awuni said master Sule is a habitual criminal and a friend to the police and court, as he is well known for entering people’s rooms and stealing electronic items.

The two suspects were convicted on their own plea.

A bench warrant has been issued against the third suspect whose name has only been given as Haruna while the exhibits are to be released to the owner.
