In a press statement issued on Thursday, August 8, the office emphasized that Mr Mahama has always been a man of integrity, committed to the principles of honesty and transparency.

The statement further noted that the OSP’s findings vindicate Mr Mahama, revealing the baseless nature of the allegations against him.

Additionally, the Office criticised the ruling government, accusing it of attempting to exploit the matter for political gain, only to have its efforts exposed by the OSP’s ruling.

“The Office of HE John Dramani Mahama wishes to express profound satisfaction with the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s (OSP) ruling, which exonerates the former president from allegations in the Airbus ‘scandal’.”

“The OSP’s ruling reaffirms what we have always known: John Dramani Mahama is a man of integrity, a leader committed to the principles of honesty and transparency.”

“The facts of this case have been available, and the public has observed the machinations behind the scenes—including the disingenuous attempts by the current ruling government to exploit this matter for political gain,” an excerpt of the statement said.

In 2020, former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu identified former President John Dramani Mahama as the mysterious ‘Government Official 1’ in the Airbus scandal involving the procurement of aircraft for the Government of Ghana.

Although Mr Mahama denied the accusation, members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) continued to insist on his involvement in the bribery scandal.

However, during a press conference on Thursday, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng stated that his office, after a thorough investigation, found “no evidence” of corruption against the former President.

Mr Agyebeng further clarified that the processes leading to the purchase of the military aircraft adhered to all necessary procurement standards.

“The OSP investigation found no evidence that former President Mahama was involved or played any role in the procurement and maintenance of the agency relationship between Airbus and Foster and his associates in respect of the purchase by the Government of Ghana of military transport aircraft from Airbus.”

“And it appears to the OSP that the direct communications and meetings between former President Mahama and officials of Airbus to close the deal were actuated by good intentions on the part of the former,” he stated.

Revealed: When Adwoa Safo will return to Ghana http://34.58.148.58/revealed-when-adwoa-safo-will-return-to-ghana/ Tue, 26 Jul 2022 12:52:29 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2142090 It has emerged that embattled Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament (MP), Sarah Adwoa Safo, is expected to return to Ghana within this week.

This is according to her aide, Nana Dubin Kwapong.

“Within this week, we are going to see her and we will hear from her,” he announced on Accra-based Okay FM.

On October 6, 2021, President Nana Akufo-Addo extended the leave of absence from office for Miss Safo who doubles as the Gender Minister.

The leave, which she sought for personal reasons, was supposed to have ended on August 31, 2021, but the former Procurement Minister could not resume.

Instead, she requested an extension which did not, however, state when she will resume, a situation which has sparked controversies.

Many, who have criticised her for abandoning parliamentary duties, have also accused her of sabotaging government business.

Mr Kwapong explained the MP’s absence was not because she had any issue with anyone but because she had to take care of personal issues as she clearly stated in her leave request.

Whether or not she will be seeking re-election in 2024, the aide noted: “She has not made her plans known yet but I’m confident the constituents appreciate her work and will fully support her if she decides to contest.”

Spokesperson to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is the latest government official to share his COVID-19 experience with the public.

According to Dr Gideon Boako, he tested positive for the deadly virus but was treated at home, revealing that he was down with severe fever.

“I experienced the symptoms and called my doctor who asked for my sample to be taken and within 48-hours, I received the results that showed I was ‘positive’,” he said on Accra-based Peace FM.

He said he still couldn’t fathom how he contracted the disease as he strictly adhered to all the laid-down safety protocols.

He disclosed that none of his close associates tested positive though they were often in contact with each other.

Dr Boako stressed that it was important for Ghanaians to abide by the protocols since everybody was at risk.

1D1F on course; attracting more investors – Bawumia’s spokesperson http://34.58.148.58/1d1f-on-course-attracting-more-investors-bawumias-spokesperson/ Tue, 27 Aug 2019 13:23:19 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1697428 Dr Gideon Boako, the spokesperson for the Vice President Dr Mahaamud Bawumia has reiterated the government’s commitment to revamping industrialization in Ghana.

According to Dr Boako, the Akufo-Addo-led government’s ‘one district one factory’ (1D1F) promise is to create an enabling environment for industrialization for all Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam show, Dr Boako noted that the policy was no joke even though its progress has been underrated.

“People are taking the ‘one district one factory’ for granted but it is not a joke. It was a political message through which government has set targets to draw people to participate in developing private and public industries,” he said.

According to Dr Boako, measures by the government to support existing factories with stimulus packages is not a deviation from the original 1D1F but a means of strengthening companies and maximise employment avenues.

“Not all factories were started from scratch and with our current position to serve the people of Ghana, we have a duty to perform but because the government cannot finance all policies, that is why it has been a partnership with private and existing companies,” he added.

“As I speak now, even though not all districts have factories, there are others with about 3 to 4 factories due to interest expressed by investors in those districts looking at availability of raw materials,” Mr Boako added.

Wontumi’s aide warns minister, KMA boss over KATH http://34.58.148.58/wontumis-aide-warns-minister-kma-boss-kath/ Thu, 05 Oct 2017 05:53:56 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=550341 The Personal Aide and Programs Manager of the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP, has charged residents in the region to blame the Regional Minister, Hon. Simmon Osei Mensah and Kumasi Mayor, Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, if they fail to address the impasse between staff and the Administrator of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Mr. George Tetteh.

Some agitated workers are calling for the removal of Mr. George Tetteh who they claim was appointed under bizarre circumstances during the previous NDC administration despite not having the requisite skills and expertise to handle the position.

According to the workers who have since been mounting platforms and posters calling for his dismissal, Mr. Tetteh’s continuous stay is negatively affecting the operations of the hospital, warning that things could get worst if he is not removed.

They are alleging that apart from being sneaked into the position by the then NDC administration led by then CEO Dr. Joseph Akpaloo, Mr. Tetteh had engaged in lots of underhand dealings which require serious investigations but only when he is removed.

But Special Aide to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP, Andy Owusu, believes the Regional Minister and the Kumasi Mayor owe it a duty to intervene in the standoff before matters get worse.

According to him, bloods of innocent patients will be on the heads of the two leaders if they fail to address the lingering issues.

“I am blaming both the Regional Minister and the KMA Boss for sitting aloof and allowing this KATH matter to fester up till now; as representatives of the President and the people of the region, they have to make sure the right thing is done. Why they have refused to intervene and ensure that Mr. Tetteh is removed as being demanded by the major stakeholders who are the workers, is something I find difficult to understand”.

Andy Owusu further noted that “It is no secret how Mr. George Tetteh climbed to that position without merit; since his assumption as Head of Administration, things have moved from bad to worse at the hospital”.

Hot Audio: Ayariga jealous of Mahama http://34.58.148.58/hot-audio-ayariga-jealous-mahama/ Fri, 14 Jul 2017 14:02:00 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=295971 Special Aide to the 2016 flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr. Edward Nasigri Mahama, has asked the leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga to stop spewing venom over the former’s decision to accept a position as an Ambassador at large in the Nana Addo government.
According to Dela Tengeh, Mr Ayariga jealous because he has not gotten any opportunity from the NPP government to serve.
“Hassan Ayariga should just shut up and stop hating on Dr Mahama. You decided to break away from PNC to form your own concert political party, what then is your problem if our leader decides to accept a role in NPP government. He is just jealous of the man and has not done nothing meaningful with his life to help the country. He is just a comedian who enjoys spewing venom” he said on Accra based Okay FM.
Mr Hassan Ayariga has said that Dr Edward Nasigri Mahama has accepted a disgraceful position as an Ambassador at large.
According to the former flagbearer of the PNC, being an Ambassador is not any special position.
“You are just an errand boy of the president and he uses you as he desires. He can send you to wherever he likes so that you go and run errands for him. This is a disgraceful position”, he observed.
The supreme leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), cannot fathom why the same Dr Edward Mahama will turn down juicy offers including becoming a Vice President, a cabinet minister and only turn round to accept a position that is equal to a messenger.
“He declined to become a running mate under Kufuor, a Minister and now he is now rushing to take a ‘boy boy’ job. Why will he now want to become an errand boy or messenger? Maybe he wants to enjoy a diplomatic passport and other privileges with his ‘boy boy’ job. If his appointment is meant to cure the sickness of all-inclusive government, then the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has failed because they are dealing with him as an individual and not as a political party”, he stated.
He believes that the PNC must question Dr. Mahama on his acceptance of the appointment as it does not speak well for the party.
But Dr Mahama’s aide said his boss is not hungry like Hassan Ayariga but only accepted the position to serve Ghana.
“With the level of kindheartedness the man exhibits, is simply legendary. He is a man of substance but never prides himself in materialism and a very nice man and so Ayariga should just shut up” he cried.
Describing Mr Ayariga as a comedian, Dela Tengeh believes Mr Ayariga is only making such ‘useless’ pronouncements because he has been deprived of all the basics of life during his childhood years, “and have therefore become adult with no grain of self-esteem” he said.

Woyome hasn’t received court order for oral examination – Aide http://34.58.148.58/woyome-hasnt-received-court-order-oral-examination-aide/ Thu, 22 Jun 2017 06:49:42 +0000 http://35.232.176.128/ghana-news/?p=210351 The office of Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome, has indicated that, he has not been served with the Supreme Court’s order for his impending oral examination on June 29.

The Court granted an application for the Attorney General’s Department to orally examine the businessman on the means and capacity to repay the over fifty-one million Ghana cedis judgment debt to the State.

The Court had also placed a temporary charge on the shares of Mr. Woyome pending the 29th June hearing.

But personal assistant to Mr. Woyome, Reginald Dogbey, told Citi News his boss is yet to be served with the notice indicating the examination.

“I can state on authority that we have never received anything as at yesterday [Tuesday]. If by now it has been served at the office fine, but as of Tuesday, we did not receive any order from the court. When you are not served, for what purpose are you going to court? It might be something somebody is manufacturing so definitely as the news has been leaked to the media, I believe the office will be served.”

A document sighted by Citi News on Monday indicated that, the Attorney General’s office had initiated processes to orally examine businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome in the controversial GHc 51 million judgment debt saga.

The document noted that, Mr. Woyome will be examined on issues pertaining to whether he owed any debts, whether he has property to satisfy the debt, and the manner in which he used the judgment debt money paid him, among others.

Background to Judgment Debt saga

Mr. Woyome was paid GHc 51 million after claiming he helped Ghana raise funds to construct stadia for the hosting of the 2008 African Cup of Nations. However, an Auditor General’s report released in 2010, held that the amount was paid illegally to him.

Subsequently, the Supreme Court in 2014 ordered Mr. Woyome to pay back the money, after a former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, single-handedly challenged the legality of the payments.

Following delays in retrieving the money, Supreme Court judges unanimously granted the Attorney-General clearance to execute the court’s judgment, ordering Mr. Woyome to refund the cash to the state.

Mr. Amidu himself, in 2016, filed an application at the Supreme Court seeking to examine Alfred Woyome, on how he was going to pay back the money, after the Attorney General’s office under the Mahama Administration, led by the former Minister for Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, discontinued a similar application.

In February 21017 however, Mr. Amdu withdrew his suit seeking an oral examination, explaining that the change of government and the assurance by the new Attorney General to retrieve all judgement debts wrongfully paid to individuals, had given him renewed confidence in the system.
