The talented youngster, who began his career at the renowned Right to Dream Academy, progressed through the youth ranks at French giants Olympique Lyon before making a switch to Danish Superliga club Randers FC in 2024.

Sulemana made headlines during Ghana’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal clash with Egypt, scoring in the thrilling 2-2 draw.

Although Ghana was eventually eliminated in a 5-4 penalty shootout defeat, the winger’s performance stood out.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on a place at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, Sulemana remains focused on his long-term goal of reaching England’s top tier—an ambition inspired by his older brother, Kamaldeen Sulemana, who has already featured in the Premier League.

“My dream is to reach the Premier League, just like Kamal [Kamaldeen Sulemana], but first, I want to become a regular at Randers and prove I can make a difference,” he told CAF Media.

Since joining Randers, Sulemana has made 16 appearances and scored once, continuing to build on his growing reputation in European football.

U-20 AFCON: We did everything possible to qualify – Sulemana after Black Satellites’ exit http://34.58.148.58/u-20-afcon-we-did-everything-possible-to-qualify-sulemana-after-black-satellites-exit/ Tue, 13 May 2025 10:32:35 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2534513 Ghana Winger Hakim Sulemana has expressed deep disappointment following the Black Satellites’ failure to secure a spot at the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup.

On Monday, May 12, Ghana bowed out of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout loss to Egypt.

The quarterfinal clash at the New Suez Stadium ended 2-2 after extra time, forcing the game into penalties where the North Africans emerged victorious.

Sulemana, who was named Man of the Match for the second time in the tournament, admitted the loss was difficult to accept, especially given the team’s spirited comeback from a two-goal deficit.

“I think we came all out. It’s always hard when you are 2-0 down and then coming up. We gave all our hearts, and that’s where we wanted to get the win, but unfortunately, we didn’t have luck on our side. We tried our best, that’s what matters,” Sulemana said.

He added that the team’s primary goal was to qualify for the World Cup and ultimately challenge for the AFCON title.

“The aim was to qualify for the World Cup, and after qualifying, we get to win the trophy, but unfortunately, of course, we are not happy. We are out at the quarterfinals. We are not happy at all.”

Ghana had been aiming to return to the U-20 World Cup for the first time since 2015. The next edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place later this year in Chile.

U-20 AFCON: Hakim Sulemana vows better finishing against Senegal http://34.58.148.58/u-20-afcon-hakim-sulemana-vows-better-finishing-against-senegal/ Sat, 03 May 2025 15:33:39 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2531249 Ghana U-20 forward Abdul Hakim Sulemana says the team is determined to improve their finishing in front of goal when they face Senegal in their next match at the ongoing Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Black Satellites were held to a 1-1 draw by DR Congo on Friday night at the Suez Stadium in their Group C opener.

Samuel Ntanda-Lukisa opened the scoring for DR Congo in the 16th minute, but Ghana responded quickly, with Aziz Musibau netting the equaliser in the 24th minute.

Sulemana, who was named Man of the Match, admitted that the team struggled to convert their chances.

“I think we came all out, and it was just unfortunate we couldn’t capitalise on our chances,” Sulemana said.

“So the next time we get an opportunity, we are going to use our chances wisely,” he added.

All four teams in Group C—Ghana, DR Congo, Senegal, and the Central African Republic—currently sit on one point, after Senegal also played out a 1-1 draw against the Central African Republic.

Ghana will return to action on Monday, May 5, when they take on Senegal at the Suez Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
