Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has rescinded his decision and lifted the suspension on four Members of Parliament (MPs), allowing them to return to the chamber immediately.

The suspended MPs—Frank Annoh-Dompreh (Nsawam-Adoagyiri), Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor (South Dayi), Jerry Ahmed Shaib (Weija-Gbawe), and Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli (Gushegu)—have been instructed to re-enter the chamber to resume their duties.

The Speaker’s decision came after a plea from Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who requested that the Speaker reconsider his action.

Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, also supported the call, highlighting the cooperation from the Minority during the vetting of the Ministers-designate.

The suspension had been imposed following chaos during the vetting session at the Appointments Committee.

Despite the lifting of the suspension, Speaker Bagbin emphasized that the special committee would continue investigating the disturbances.
