Some men marry famous women just to bring them down – Selina Boateng

Gospel singer Selina Boateng has opened up about why some men choose to marry women with fame.

In an interview with Doreen Avio on Joy Prime’s Changes show, she explained that certain men intentionally pursue famous women with the aim of bringing them down.

“Some come purposely because of your fame. He’s coming to humble and control you so you won’t get the chance to even do the work of God,” she said.

Selina noted that the private lives of celebrities are different from their public image, but some men fail to understand this distinction, which often leads to conflicts in marriage.

The award-winning musician added that their profession is demanding, and unfortunately, many do not end up with partners who are supportive enough.

“The media and the work we’re doing is the problem. When you’re out there, people see you to be different, but the character is a different thing altogether. When you get home with the man or woman, that’s when the real character comes out. You know the person when you’re in the house. So sometimes we don’t get the good people to support the ministry,” she explained.

Sharing advice based on her experience, Selina urged young women to be cautious with their marriage decisions and to put God first in the process.

“If you don’t have any relationship with God and the Holy Spirit is not with you, you’ll mislead yourself and choose the wrong person,” she advised.
