Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has expressed concern about the state of governance in Ghana, noting that many citizens continue to face hardship despite changes in political leadership.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, the musician said politicians often come and go, yet the challenges confronting ordinary citizens persist.

According to him, many Ghanaians are aware of the difficulties within the system but are unable to speak out due to a lack of platform or voice.

Shatta Wale emphasized the need for more opportunities for young people, adding that initiatives supporting entrepreneurship could help reduce hardship.

“If the system can create opportunities like the ones I am pursuing, it would be fantastic. Politicians come and go, yet it seems like nobody truly cares. Sometimes I sit and wonder where this country is headed. Citizens see the issues, but many are unable to speak up because they lack a voice. Hardship still permeates our system. All we hear about is politics, with little emphasis on development,” he said.

He added: “When the time comes for proper representation in power, I believe I can stand out proudly for my people. I don’t want to be affiliated with any political party. We need to grow beyond our current situation. For now, I plan to remain humble. I love Ghana so much that sometimes I don’t even want to travel abroad.”
