The Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Adjei, has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its Members of Parliament over what he describes as hypocrisy regarding security service recruitment.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, he questioned calls for refunds to applicants who fail to gain admission into the security services.
Adjei argued that it is not standard practice for applicants to receive refunds after unsuccessful recruitment, comparing it to school admissions where fees for forms are not returned if applicants are not admitted.
He cited a 2018 recruitment exercise under the NPP government, noting that out of about 84,000 applicants to the Ghana Immigration Service, only 500 were recruited, yet no refunds were issued to unsuccessful applicants.
He urged the NPP to stop what he described as hypocrisy and focus on building the nation instead.
