Black Princesses midfielder Sarah Nyarko has been named the Overall Best Player at the WAFU B U20 Girls Cup held in Benin.
The Dreamz Ladies playmaker delivered a stellar performance throughout the tournament, scoring two goals and providing an assist in Ghana’s four matches.
Despite her individual brilliance, Ghana’s U-20 women’s team were unable to retain their title, finishing as runners-up after a narrow defeat to Nigeria’s Falconets in the final.
Nyarko succeeds Stella Nyamekye, who won the maiden edition of the award in Kumasi.
The tournament also gave head coach Charles Sampson a key opportunity to evaluate his squad and make tactical adjustments ahead of Ghana’s upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
