Grief and heartbreak filled St. Peter’s Chapel in Kwahu Nkwatia as mourners gathered to bid farewell to 15-year-old Jayden Sasu Dwamena, the gifted contestant who helped propel his school to national recognition in the Junior Sharks Quiz.
Jayden, a member of the history-making “Sharks 8” team of St. Peter’s SHS, passed away in January 2026 after reportedly collapsing on campus following a brief illness.
He was rushed to Nkwatia Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The sudden loss of the young quiz prodigy sent shockwaves through Kwahu Nkwatia and beyond, particularly among students and teachers who had watched him excel on the academic stage.
At the funeral service held at St. Peter’s Chapel, emotions ran high as mourners struggled to come to terms with the tragedy.
There were emotional scenes as schoolmates filed past his coffin to pay their last respects.
Residents of Kwahu Nkwatia also turned out in large numbers to honour the young star, with many describing him as a symbol of hope and inspiration for the community.
