There was drama at the Resurrection Power New Generation Church on Sunday, September 7, 2025, when some aggrieved members staged a protest during service.
The group, made up largely of youth, accused the leadership of financial mismanagement and lack of accountability following the death of the founder, the late Rev. Anthony Kojo Boakye.
Carrying placards with inscriptions such as “No Accountability, No Preaching,” “Boat and Naa Must Go,” and “Stomach Leaders,” the protesters alleged that the church secretary, the current head pastor, and some elders—including children of the late founder—were mismanaging funds and adopting an authoritarian style of leadership that, in their view, threatens the future of the church.
The situation escalated until a police riot control team intervened to restore calm.
Some of the concerned members told Adom News that their action was meant to draw attention to what they described as “years of neglect and misuse of church resources,” a problem they believe has worsened since the founder’s passing.
Church authorities, when contacted, declined to comment in detail, stating they would consult their lawyer, Alexander Abban, before issuing an official response.
