Quick GNFS response prevents major fire at Adenta Apartment

A fast response by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Sunday prevented a fire at Adenta from escalating into a major disaster.

The blaze, which began after burning refuse spread to a chamber-and-hall apartment window and an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) pole at Forster Down near Lakeside, sparked panic among residents.

Although the flames partially damaged the window, firefighters from the Adenta and Madina Fire Stations quickly arrived on the scene and contained the fire, preventing it from spreading further.

Their swift action saved a nearby three-bedroom building and another adjoining chamber-and-hall apartment, along with their contents.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Residents noted that the fire could have been catastrophic had the GNFS not responded promptly.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
