Former Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has emerged more united and focused following the official declaration of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
In a congratulatory message, Opoku Prempeh described the atmosphere as charged with a renewed sense of purpose, noting that party faithful had rallied behind a common goal of rebuilding the party and returning it to power.
According to him, the show of unity at the headquarters demonstrated that internal divisions that often follow competitive primaries had given way to collective resolve and readiness to campaign as one front.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh said the party’s immediate priority is to consolidate the gains from the presidential primary, strengthen internal cohesion and prepare rigorously for the 2028 elections.
He added that the energy displayed by members reflects confidence in the party’s future direction under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership
