The Bono Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into the kidnapping of 30-year-old Millicent Fosua at Kyeremasu in the Dormaa East Municipality.
According to a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, the victim was rescued in Berekum through an intelligence-led undercover operation by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID). She was found in good health and has since been reunited with her family.
The complainant, Samuel Amartey Laryea, reported that he and his wife had travelled to Kyeremasu for a funeral on October 29, 2025.
On November 3, he received a call from an unknown individual claiming that his wife had been kidnapped and demanding GH₵12,000 for her release. Out of fear, he sent GH₵2,000, but the victim was not released, prompting him to report the incident to the police.
The victim recounted that she was abducted by men in a black Toyota Corolla while on her way to visit her husband early on November 3.
She was blindfolded, assaulted, and threatened by her captors, who also seized her mobile phone and coerced her into providing her husband’s contact number and her mobile money PIN.
Police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects to assist with further investigations.
