A police officer and two others have died in a gory accident on the Nadowli–Jirapa stretch in the Upper West Region.
The accident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon, involved a SsangYong mini van with registration number AS 2684-16, carrying 20 passengers.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the vehicle is believed to have suffered a tyre burst before somersaulting.
Personnel from the Nadowli Fire Station responded swiftly to the scene after receiving a distress call at 12:41 p.m.
A duty crew of six rescued 17 victims who were immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.
Unfortunately, three people, including a police officer, were confirmed dead following the crash.
The GNFS said investigations are ongoing, while emergency services continue to monitor the condition of the injured victims.
