Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has reiterated his pride in donning the Black Stars jersey as the team prepares to resume the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward has been named in coach Otto Addo’s 24-man squad for the double-header against Chad and Mali in the Matchday 7 and 8 games of the qualifiers.
Speaking after Spurs’ narrow 1-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, the 24-year-old underlined the significance of national duty.
“I think playing for your country is also a massive part of us being players, representing your nation. So, it’s very, very important to me,” Kudus said.
Ghana will open their September campaign with an away fixture against Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I with 15 points from six games, three points ahead of Comoros and five clear of Madagascar, as they chase a fifth FIFA World Cup appearance. The squad is scheduled to begin camp in Accra on Monday, September 1.
