The Rector of the New Apostolic Church, Tepa District, Pastor Boakye Ansah, has called on pastors to intensify education and sensitisation on marriage as part of efforts to curb the rising cases of marriage-related violence in the country.
Speaking at Acherensua during a meeting with pastors of the district and their spouses, Pastor Ansah told Adom News that reports of violence within marriages continue to rise, making it imperative for religious leaders to take a more proactive role in addressing the situation.
According to him, many individuals suffer abuse, sustain severe injuries, and in some cases lose their lives over marital issues that do not warrant such violent actions.
He noted that the frequent media reports on marital violence are gradually discouraging young people from embracing marriage, a development he described as worrying.
Pastor Ansah further cautioned pastors against creating the impression that divine revelations occur only on December 31 through prophecies, stressing that God speaks to people at all times.
He urged pastors to be truthful and responsible in their teachings, adding that misleading prophecies can create fear, anxiety, and confusion among church members.
