One person has died while two others were rescued following a ghastly road traffic accident at Breku Forest, near the Pra River, along the Accra–Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 25, 2026, when a Howo Sinotruk truck, with registration number AS-4114-24 and loaded with cement, reportedly overturned, trapping three occupants in the wreckage.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) carried out coordinated extrication efforts and successfully rescued two injured victims from the mangled truck.

The injured persons were handed over to the Ghana National Ambulance Service and transported in an ambulance, with registration number GV-589-20, to the Juaso Government Hospital for medical treatment.

One occupant was, however, found dead at the scene. The body was retrieved and handed over to the Police to assist investigations and for onward conveyance to the morgue.
The truck sustained extensive damage, particularly to its front section, underscoring the severity of the crash.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
