One person has been confirmed dead and 16 others injured in a road crash at Peki Tsame, near Mawutor Inn, along the Peki–Asikuma highway.

The accident reportedly occurred when a Toyota Hiace bus GT 7012-24 suffered a rear tyre burst, causing the vehicle to somersault.

In a Facebook post on Friday, February 13, the Ghana National Fire Service said firefighters from the Peki Fire Station responded promptly to a distress call. The rescue team was led by Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Godwin Gbedemah.
According to the GNFS, officers worked quickly to free passengers trapped in the vehicle.
The injured victims, comprising eight men, seven women, and one child, were handed over to personnel from the National Ambulance Service and transported to the Peki Government Hospital for medical attention.
The Service later confirmed that one of the injured victims died at the hospital, while the remaining casualties are in stable condition.
