Old students of Ola Girls’ Senior High School (SHS) in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, have urged final-year students to stay away from drug abuse and remain focused on building a brighter future.
The appeal was made during a graduation ceremony for 567 students over the weekend.
Headmistress Beatrice Adongo encouraged parents to provide guidance and support as their wards return home to await results.
“Managers and teachers of the school have done their part by imparting good values over the past three years. Parents must now continue from there,” she said.
On behalf of the Past Ola Girls’ Association (POGA-K), secretary Evelyn Faalodong Zagbour warned the graduates about the rising use of marijuana, tramadol, shisha, and cocaine among young people.
“These substances affect well-being, especially the brain,” she cautioned in an interview with Adom News, urging the students to resist peer pressure and remain drug-free after school.
