The Okere Traditional Area has conferred a prestigious honour on former Member of Parliament for Okere, Daniel Botwe, in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contribution to the development of the area and the nation at large.
Mr. Botwe was presented with the 2025 Award of the Order of the Star of Okere, one of the highest honours of the traditional area, for his exemplary and unmatched leadership during his tenure as Member of Parliament.

The citation accompanying the award highlighted his role in promoting extensive social and physical development in Okere, as well as his instrumental contribution to the creation of Ghana’s six additional regions.

It also recognised his efforts in the establishment of the Okere District Assembly and his commitment to uplifting the image and status of the Okere Traditional Area.
The award was signed and endorsed by the Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Ahunabobrim Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, who praised Hon. Botwe’s legacy of service and dedication to national and local development.

According to the citation, Hon. Botwe’s leadership continues to serve as a benchmark for public service, governance and community development within the traditional area.
The honour was dated January 10, 2026, and forms part of efforts by the Okere Traditional Council to acknowledge individuals whose service has had a lasting impact on the development of the area.
