Okada rider found dead with slit throat at Kwabenya

A wave of fear has gripped the Kwabenya Comet community in Accra following the gruesome murder of an Okada rider, the second such incident in just a few months.

The victim, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was found with his throat slit in what residents fear is becoming a disturbing pattern of targeted killings. The discovery has intensified anxiety in a community still reeling from a similar incident earlier this year.

The latest murder mirrors the brutal killing of Immigration Officer Stephen Amoah, who was slain under nearly identical circumstances in the same area.

Residents say the repeated acts of violence have left them living in constant fear while raising serious concerns about the effectiveness of security measures in the neighbourhood.

So far, no arrests have been made, but the Ghana Police Service has launched investigations into the case.

With its rapid urbanisation and high population density, Kwabenya presents unique challenges for law enforcement, as criminal activities often go undetected in its maze of unlit streets and densely packed settlements.

The recent murders have sparked renewed public calls for urgent police intervention to restore calm and bring an end to what locals describe as a reign of terror in their community.
