The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has called on Ghanaian YouTube sensation and digital influencer Wode Maya to mentor young people in content creation and digital media during the ongoing International Youth Empowerment Summit (iYES 2026).

Speaking at the summit’s opening, Mr Ayariga highlighted the growing opportunities in the creative and digital sectors, noting that youth with the right skills can generate sustainable livelihoods.

“Wode Maya has demonstrated what is possible when creativity meets dedication. We are inviting him to guide young people on how to leverage content creation to tell stories, build careers, and inspire communities,” he said.

He further emphasised the significance of practical mentorship. “It is one thing to teach theory, but the real impact comes when young people see how ideas are transformed into income and influence. Wode Maya’s experience in digital media is a valuable tool that can equip our youth with skills for the 21st century.”

Mr Ayariga also urged summit participants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from influencers and industry experts.

“We want every young person here to leave not just motivated, but equipped with tangible skills. Training in digital content is no longer optional; it is a pathway to empowerment and independence,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, he reaffirmed the NYA’s commitment to youth development and mentorship.

“Through initiatives like this, and with the support of Wode Maya and other industry leaders, we aim to nurture talent, foster innovation, and create platforms where young Ghanaians can thrive in the digital economy,” he stated.
