Sub-chiefs, including Abrempong and Adikrofo in the Ntotroso Traditional Area of the Ahafo Region, have pledged their commitment to supporting development efforts in the area.
The pledge was made at a gathering in Ntotroso, where the sub-chiefs expressed gratitude to the Paramount Chief for their enstoolment. Speaking on behalf of the group, the Obrempong of Nsonyameye, Nana Kwasi Amoah, said development remains a top priority of the Paramount Chief, Barima Twereko Ampem III, under whose leadership they were enstooled.
He noted that since Barima Twereko Ampem III was installed as Paramount Chief of Ntotroso by the Asantehene, several initiatives have been introduced to drive development across various sectors within the traditional area.
Nana Kwasi Amoah assured that the sub-chiefs would work tirelessly to complement these initiatives and help bring development closer to the people.
In his address, the Paramount Chief of Ntotroso and President of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Barima Twereko Ampem III, dismissed claims that the Apomasu Yam Festival is associated with evil practices.
He explained that the festival, which has the full endorsement of the Asantehene, is intended to promote Ghanaian culture and attract development to the community.
He therefore called on residents to fully support this year’s Apomasu Yam Festival to help advance development in the area.
